I have a lot that slopes but I want a garage that is level. I would need to take 4-5' of slope from one side in order to level. Currently the area has a sloped concrete parking slab. Could I brace with a frame of 2 X 6's and put wood or plywood down as a floor? Not sure of the structural ramifications.

The house is on a steep street and my neightbour's house is higher than mine so it's coming from the difference in height at the base. It's a terraced house in Devon and not rich pickings so I thought it was quite expensive. Would sharing the cost of the treatment resolve the damp for both of us or would it need to be done from both sides?

I believe it was left on for too long. I came home and saw it plugged in but the 'on' light was not lit up (these grills don't have an on off switch). I called the company for help to no avail. They don't have a troubleshooting guide, and the website only offers the instruction manual with a few recipes. The company offered to send me a new one for $25, but I'd rather fix it myself. I opened it up to take a look, but nothing looks burnt. All the wires are clean. Should I test the wires with an electric current meter?

I'm always looking for new ways to make my house smell good.
I can't always burn candles. My favorite way to make my house smell good is to put either sented pin cones or glad refells in the heater vents. When the heat comes on it carries the smell all through the house. Thank you for your time!

We are buying replacement windows for 10 windows soon. I am extremely thorough in researching info. and trying to compare apples to apples etc. However, someone just told us to try Lowes Thermastar. By adding low e and argon gas... I think may be good product for the price... but skeptical as I know it is Pella's lowest line of replacement windows and can't seem to find reviews on them. I have had several estimates and I think they would save us close to 1000$ on 10 windows compared to others. Anyone gone with Thermastar, and if so happy so far? Such a headache...I know there are better choices out there, but would be happy if they lasted the 10 years, for the cost savings now as we need to do something now assuming they perform as intended. Any thoughts ideas etc. would be greatly appreciated. Over the wknd realized need new dryer and p.c...so in 3's it happens. Need to do all before baby 2 arrives. thank you in advance for time!

I live in NYC in a Co-Op building. For some reason the Society only gives 1 main door key for a Apartment. We are 3 Room-mates & its difficult as u might understand. I don't have the card needed 2 make a copy of this type of key . I wanted to know is there a place specifically in NYC (Queens) where I can go & get a copy of the key without the card.

I was looking at an 18V Cordless Drill for my husband, but I don't know what kind to buy. Some are only $30.00 and others are $200.00. What is the difference? It looks like most of them come with 2 batteries and a carring case. I'm really confused. Any suggestions???

I have 5.5 acres that I'm having clear cut (a lumber company is paying us for our trees). Is there a good kind of meadow grass or anything else I should plant in order to keep it from eroding (it's a valley and part of a ridge/mtn.).?
