I believe it was left on for too long. I came home and saw it plugged in but the 'on' light was not lit up (these grills don't have an on off switch). I called the company for help to no avail. They don't have a troubleshooting guide, and the website only offers the instruction manual with a few recipes. The company offered to send me a new one for $25, but I'd rather fix it myself. I opened it up to take a look, but nothing looks burnt. All the wires are clean. Should I test the wires with an electric current meter?

I have found the thermal fuse and am about to get an Ohm meter to check if it is blown. If it is blown, however, how should I go about replacing it? It is attached to the wires (does not look soldered) by two small gold clamps. Should I cut the wire? Will the new fuse come with new clamps?

The first place to start is the thermal fuse. It blows when the appliance overheats. It won't reset and must be replaced with the same rating. It is metal and about the size of a small resistor. Check it with your ohm meter (grill turned off).

Yeah make sure that it is getting current. Then if it isn't I would think that the temp setting dial got burned out. If there isn't a temp dial then get a new wire. If it still doesn't work then the elements went bad and you will have to get a new unit. Hey $25 sounds good if it includes the shipping. You may be able to find a new wire at a thrift shop. In fact I've seen those grills at Goodwill really cheap.
