The drain does not close. When I can't move the little handle on the tub either up or down. When I took the face plate off it still does not move up or down. Any suggestions? Chuck

sounds like it is either disconnected or caught on something in the drain. if you can get at it from the back, try removing the pipes from the lever down to the drain. you should be able to see the connection.

Usually on the other side of the wall there will be a square opening you can remove to get to Bathtub plumbing. I didn't know this until my husband removed the whole bathtub and the whole wall just to replace a facuet. Then when we were fixing a hose on the washer which was on the other side of the wall we found the opening to the bathtub plumbing

Pull up and out on the little thingy behind the face plate, and run plenty of hot water, replace it and it should close
