I live in NYC in a Co-Op building. For some reason the Society only gives 1 main door key for a Apartment. We are 3 Room-mates & its difficult as u might understand. I don't have the card needed 2 make a copy of this type of key . I wanted to know is there a place specifically in NYC (Queens) where I can go & get a copy of the key without the card.

If there is a place to do that, the locksmith is probably not on the up and up. That system is in place for a reason. It is for security. Someone could steal your key and just get it copied before you know it is missing and steal all your stufff. Your best bet is to talk to the society and get them to change their rule.

You can only get a copy of a master key if you have the master key. I agree with the guy about asking the society to change the rules.If you are all on the same lease, it shouldn't be a problem for you all to have separate keys to your own place.Do it legally.

Yep....each and all of the time. I carry 2 keychains on workdays. One keychain is crammed with keys for my place of work and the different is my own keys (abode, vehicle, secure, etc). i'm going to be status in front of my place of work door attempting to open it with my abode key. i'm going to stare on the keychain, flipping interior the process the differnet keys to hit upon the splendid one till I know it incredibly is the incorrect keychain. comparable element while i'm at abode. I do it a minimum of as quickly as a week.
