I received a handle from the Peerless Co. because my set screw is stripped in the old handle. They told me to drill it out with a drill. I have tried this off & on for over two hours and nothing is happening. How in the world do they expect me to get this set screw out?

I have put in an offer to buy a home that was extensively renovated over the last 2 years.
I just found out that it had extensive termite damage.
The termite damage was structural. I have paperwork from the owners that the damage was repaired.
But can termites still be hidden ? Can they come back easily ?
Its been a year since house was remediated.
The owners have given me until noon tomorrow (Sunday) to let them know.
So Ive got to research this answer FAST.

Any informed help so appreciated !

They've been out years and I used to sell them in th 80's when I was at Uni. There were pics. of lions, landscapes and disney characters etc. They were etchings on foil. Somebody knocked my door the other day selling them and I was shocked that people are still buying them after all these years. Does anybody know what I'm talking about?

When you get to an outside corner, when doing cedar shakes, how do you get a fit that will keep rain out? Do they just butt agains't each other, as they cannot overlap on the corner.

I'm pastor of a church and in one of the church bathrooms, people are always flushing paper towels down the toilet and that causes immense plumbing problems. The solution prior to now has been to post signs that prohibit paper towesls from that bathroom. Folks have to try to dry thier hands on toilet tissue, which seems sort of low-class and troublesome. Our alternatives seem to be
a) buy an electric dryer (costly and requires installation and running electricity through an older, concrete block building"
OR
b) find a paper towel that will disintegrate and is septic/plumbing friendly that works better than toilet tissue.
Any thoughts.. are there such towels out there anywhere? How can we provide a hand-drying option that doesn't leave our rest room with wet and disgusting toilet paper but isn't damaging our sewage system?

I have recently had my 1998 Singer machine serviced. I am trying to sew on calico fabric and I can't seem to adjust the tension. The machine has "auto tension" but that doesn't seem to work.

When I sew straight, the top looks fine, but the bobbin thread is in a straight line and I can pull it right out. If I zig zag, the top looks fine, but the bottom looks odd (like a row of houses, or "M"s with the center "v" upside down, like a house outline).

I have been messing with the tension, but do you adjust the tension with the pressure foot down or up? And with what it is doing, do I need more or less tension? I can only adjust needle tension, not bobbin tension.

The guy I took my machine to for the $100 tune-up said it "was on its last legs"... but it's only 6 years old and I am not a big sewer, so it has less than 6 months' use on it I'd bet. The model is a real basic one, designed for use in sewing classes.... which leads me to believe it should last longer than it has.

When I open/close my garage door the door stops 1/2 way and loses complete power (lights go out and nothing works). If I wait for a few hours it works again, but cuts out 1/2 way again. I can close it by hand, there is nothing blocking the door... Sometims it goes up all the way and on the way down it stops, or when it opens it stops. I cannot find any rhyme or reason to this problem.
Any advice?

I live in an apartment and the kitchen wall is getting oily. Some of the oils are getting dry and yellow. 409 spray does not seem to work. I tried concentrated Lysol (degreaser). It did not really help. I remember seeing on an HGTV or TLC show that there is a solution to clean this but I am worried it might strip the paint.

Please help!

Thanks!!!!!!

In zone 5 detroit, is there still time to replace them with boxwoods?I have one, and if i remember correctly, it kept its green leaves during the winter.
