Depends on the type of mushrooms. Do they look like the white button caps and are away from the tree and perhaps in a row or clustered about? These are mostly likely fairy ring mushrooms. Fairy ring mushrooms (sorry, I'm not looking up their botanical names) are the result of something rotting down below. It might be a tree root, shrub root, some buried something. The mushroom is the fruiting body of the fungus decomposing whatever underneath. Aside from the white mushroom, you may notice green rings in your lawn, it's the nitrogen released during decomposition down under. There's no cure for fairy ring, some cosmetic things, but no cure.
Just a white mushroom here and there could mean some good hunk of manure or plant bit is rotting, no worry.
If the mushrooms are flatter (oyster like?), perhaps on the tree proper or a surface root, well, pooh, that's far more serious. Most likely the tree is rotting. This is when you consider getting that tree down sooner rather than later. Call a certified arborist first, not "Joe Pickup Truck Tree Service", to get a properly trained and certified arborist's opinion. A certified arborist will proudly show ISA or NAA in their telephone ad.

Best thing to get rid of mushrooms at the bottom of a tree, is to get a whole gallon of gasoline, and pour under and around the base of the tree. Make your your about 5 feet back, and flick a lit match at the mushrooms. They'll be gone forever....

Muchrooms(fungi) can be harmful to your trees. SOme may carry a disease the will rot out the center of the tree and ultimately kill. The best thing for you to do is take samples to your local extension agency, let them know the types of trees; some fungi like certain types of trees, and how long you have been noticing the fungi. In the meantime, while you wiat for the results, you may want to to get a chemical that is made to ereadicate certain shrooms. This may be a hard task--extension office will be helpful. The yellow stuff sounds like a typical mulch mold. May if you recently put dwon fresh mulch, the mulch may have had these spores present and sometimes if the mulch doesn't ferment long enough, molds appear. Use you extension agency! happy gardening!
