When you get to an outside corner, when doing cedar shakes, how do you get a fit that will keep rain out? Do they just butt agains't each other, as they cannot overlap on the corner.

Flash the corner with aluminum before you install shakes over it. Have flashing extend to about 10" or so back from each side of the corner.
