I received a handle from the Peerless Co. because my set screw is stripped in the old handle. They told me to drill it out with a drill. I have tried this off & on for over two hours and nothing is happening. How in the world do they expect me to get this set screw out?

Be sure that your drill is rotating forward (clockwise direction). Maybe you were using the drill in reverse and will never work to remove the old screw. Try also a screw remover. It's designed to work with your drill to remove old or damaged screws.

You have to have a bit that is capable of drilling into the metal.
That wood bit you're using isn't going to do it.
Go to a hardware store and tell them what you want to drill. They will get you a bit that will do the job.
Carbide or high speed steel would be a couple of the choices.

Try a drill bit for metal rather then the wood drill your using.
