I want an oleander hedge. I bought some "Hardy Red Oleander" from LOWE's which is supposed to be fast growing. It says to plant 6'-10' feet apart. I want to be certain to have a solid wall so I'm planting them 6' apart. Do I measure that distance between the bases of the plants or somewhere else?

All of the sliding patio doors in my condo complex were installed upside down. That means that my sliding glass door is on the outside and the screen on the inside. I want to install a a pet door but I am having a hard time making it work while still being able to use and lock both doors. The rollers, doors and tracks seem to be in good condition so I hate to just replace them completely. Anyone have any ideas or suggestions?

I have a fence which will turn gray in a few months and age with water damage, unless I treat it, but there are a few complications. Having just purchased this new house, money is an issue; the treatment needs to be inexpensive and ideally easy. Second, I share the fence with neighbors to each side and to my back. What should I do?

I need to repair prefinished wood surfaces on some cabinets. I have a product called softwax made by fastcap company. You use the different color wax sticks to fill-in the scaps and scraches then buff smooth. I ha ve been able to use the product to help repair, Yet the scapes are still visible. Does anyone have any expercienced advice?

I live in a really old house and I am not sure what to use to caulk around an old window pane. I picked the old caulking out with a screw driver. I have a new storm window coming in about a week. If I go to the hardware store will it say on the side of the caulking and do I have to buy a caulk gun to squirt it on? How much does this stuff all cost? I painted the window this evening and it looks brand new. Almost glows in the dark. Its been there since about 1966.

Water is collecting in my laundry room around my washer and hot water heater. Every plumber I call insists its the water heater without even coming out here. 750+ is a big bullet to bite. The water on the ground is cold, but the only place it is pooled up is under the water heater. My question, if my hot water heater was leaking would the water not be warm/hot? The heater is 15 years old. Thanks

I've read that bed skirts are out (yeah, like we all pay attention to that!). Regardless, I hate them anyway - they collect pet hair and dust, they make it a pain in the butt to change sheets and so on. So, I'm looking for creative ideas on what else to do. I have a coverlet that doesn't cover the box spring section, and that does look pretty bad! Pretty coverlet, nice decorative pillows and then seeing the metal mattress frame and the box springs. Help!

i bought this loveseat years back at a garage sale and placed it in my room. my dad also bought a couch, but put that in the garage. for some reason, it did not contain "feet". i dont know if thats the term, but the things you screw on so its elevated a little bit. well, i put the loveseats feet on the couch and i want them back. but my dad said to leave them. WELL my question is, where can i buy those feet at? at a furniture store? home depot? target? i cant even searched them online. im also not trying to spend much like for some antique feet or what not. thanks.

Mine next to the table get food splatter and dried dust. I tried to clean them with a paper towel and cleaner and ended up tearing the blinds.
