Is this suspension lamp by Philippe Starck (40W G9 HSG/F bulb) suitable for use in the bathroom? ( http://www.surrounding.com/Products/Flos/ROMEO_BABE_S.asp )

It's not really suitable for the bathroom. To comply with regulations, it would need to be at least 2 metres distant from any water source.

It is great looking. Are you planning on using a grouping of them as vanity lights or something? If you are planning on using it as a single fixture (like in place of a surface mounted fixture), it might be a little small (it is only about 5" in diameter).

If you want something similar, but larger in size check out the Lexington Pendant or the Madison Pendant from 2Thousand Degrees (www.2thousanddegrees.com). Also look at the Kovacs collection from the Minka Group (www.minka.com), and check out Boyd lighting (pricey, but great stuff).

You are probably worried about the danger aspect, (Electrocution)
As far as I know provided it cannot be touched from shower/bath it should be OK . Better to falk to a SPARK
