For example, I learned that you can keep celery longer by removing it from the plastic sleeve and wrapping it in tin foil. I tried it and it worked, so I also use this method for my lettuce.

I know there are lists available on the internet .. I can find those on my own. I'm more interested in anything you've discovered and use for yourself. Thanks!

My washing machine just keeps draining all its water! I start the cycle, and it starts the water onto all the clothes...but the water never fills up! Where is it going?!?! Then it starts trying to wash the clothes, sloshing back and forth, but the top half of the clothes are DRY! I made sure both hot and cold water faucet things are turned on, and have checked under the washer on the floor and its dry. What is wrong?!!? PLEASE HELP.

Note- It is no longer under warranty

I have been told that a person can find the answer to anything on Yahoo! So here goes... I bought a plastic toilet seat and have tightened the bolts as instructed but it shifts from side to side. Very annoying! Does anyone have a solution to the problem?

have not have roach problems. But in the past week I've noticed quite a few. I was wondering if anyone knows if it's the weather that would cause it. I want to know because I need to know if I'M doing anything that would be attracting them. I'm going to put down traps and all that this weekend, but I still need to know this. Thanks.

My extended family is coming over this weekend for a birthday. The problem is, I am going to be out of town and don't want anybody going in my room messing around with my personal effects (I've already had to do one hard drive reformat because of it). The culprit is my 6 year old cousin who for some reason will not listen when I tell him not to go in there (and my aunt, god bless her, refuses to discipline her child). Is there a way to prevent him from getting in there while I'm gone, while still being able to open the door with relative ease when I get back?

I will be gone for most of the day. I have about a quarter inch of space under the door when its fully closed. Buying a locking doorknob is not an option. I won't be paid in time to have enough $ to buy one and my mother won't let me install it anyways.

Recently, I have been hearing what sounds like dripping in one of the walls in my downstairs bathroom. However, it seems like the leak is only heard when I flush the upstairs toilet. My father seems to think that the sound I hear may be normal. However, I feel like it is a recent development which would mean its not normal. I only hear the leak while the toilet is refilling and when it quits, the leaking sound goes away. So, I don't know if that is strange or what. I don't want to open the wall if there is no leak but at the same time I don't want to wait until there is alot of damage to fix the leak. I just wanted to know if there was a way for me to know definitively that there is or isn't a leak before I hire someone to tear up my wall.

My husband and I got a new sofa so we put our old one, a perfectly fine couch, by the road so someone could pick it up for free. We live across from a skateboard park and the teenage guys who frequent the park are not exactly paragons of virtue...they came and got the couch and took it over to the park, we presumed, for their use. Which was fine with us. However, tonight when we got home, we found the couch BACK where it was, in front of our house by the road, but completely destroyed. The cushions are ripped apart; the inside is exposed...the couch is not usable now. We believe this was intentional rudeness on their part. What can we do about this?? We have no truck with which to haul the couch off to the dump...and the police say that if we can't prove who did this, there's nothing that can be done. I'm as mad as hell. This is the last straw with these jacka**es across the street. Any suggestions??

I have tried to put boiling water on it. I have tried the iron and paper towels. This is my favorite jacket, and do not want to get rid of it.
