My washing machine just keeps draining all its water! I start the cycle, and it starts the water onto all the clothes...but the water never fills up! Where is it going?!?! Then it starts trying to wash the clothes, sloshing back and forth, but the top half of the clothes are DRY! I made sure both hot and cold water faucet things are turned on, and have checked under the washer on the floor and its dry. What is wrong?!!? PLEASE HELP.

Note- It is no longer under warranty

From what you have said -- sounds like you need to "lift" the drain hose higher -- Oh-- the water is going down the drain line -- it does not simply disappear. Just insure the drain is higher than the water level in the washer so the water will not "syphon" out. Try the simple things first. Good Luck.

The washer might have a prostate problem. Time to call a repairman. Washers know when the warranty runs out, that's when they like to break. It may be something with a sensor for the water level or the control that fills the machine. Call the doctor.

Do you have a setting for how full to fill the tub? For example, I have a button with five different water level settings, so I can use less water when I don't have a full load.

If that's not the problem, have you tried looking at the website for the manufacturer? They may have this on their home page... also consider the possibility that your machine may have a recall notice for this problem.

Check the Consumer Products Safety Commission website below. I hope you find the solution!

The solenoid on the outflow is stuck open or there is something blocking it preventing it from closing.

Take off panels until you can find the outflow pipe inside the machine, follow it back to the solenoid (switch), take off the pipe and check inside with your finger. If there is something blocking it from closing, fine get the bugger out. If not take off the solenoid with wires and connect it to a battery of equal voltage, it should say on what the voltage is, if it clicks open and closed as you touch it to the battery, it should be ok. So unscrew it and check that the spring inside is not stuck, if it is, give is some love and care and some WD40.
If the solenoid is suspect, take it to a heating superstore and sk for another.

If the above are ok, it could be the control panel is constantly sending a signal to the solenoid for it to be open.
Im not going into that coz im not getting paid for this lol

ps. SWITCH OFF ''AND'' UNPLUG BEFORE YOU DO WHAT I SAID ABOVE lol.

Have you moved it recently? Is the drain hose too far down the drain pipe (It will syphon) Or it may be a faulty diverter valve. What brand is it? How far out of warranty is it? Some companies (like Fisher & Paykel) are good with out of warranty assistance
