I know we hooked up a 4ton a/c to house and it ran about 10 gallons of water after day 2.

You would have to know how to use a psychometric chart to figure that out. You would also need a tool call a sling psychrometer to get the wet and dry bulb temp of your living space and plot those point on the chart to figure out all the other info you would need.

Depends on unit size, if it is the first day or fifth, how many times the door is open, the size of the area being cooled, etc.
