The toilet is less than 1 year old. It has one of those newer type of floats. It slides up and down to adjust it but no matter where I put it the water keeps running in the tank. I can stop the water by pulling up on the float manually after every flush. But my boyfriend doesnt seem to understand how to do that. Can someone suggest how to fix the toilet please?

My hubby glopped it all over each tile, did not use the sponge to clean the tiles and is now gone 10 weeks out of town. I am using a razor blade and scraping each tile, there are over 400 tiles and the grout is over 1/4 inch thick between the tiles. It is a mess. Should I just scrape it all off and redo it myself leaving the tiles washed off and clean with the sponge? Or is there a rinse/acid to use that I can buy at home depot??

There are drops of dried hair spray on the bathroom tile floor and no matter what we do, it won't come off. I'm tempted to "paint" the whole floor with it to match...heh heh, uh no.

I'm planting a sun garden to attract butterflies and hummingbirds. I'm looking for easy care perennials that are not hard to find. I already have sweet peas and black-eyed susans.

I bought a huge barbie lot, parted it out on Ebay. Paid 30.00 for the lot, made 475.00. Some of it was rare. Whats your deal?

About 3/8ths inch wide. I flushed it and now my wife is mad. Her Dad's a plumber in another state (no, we are NOT calling him to ask this question).

I planted some giant sunflower seeds but unfortunately only one plant survived. It is about seven feet high and has five sunflowers on it. Is this common? I thought only one flower grew on each stock.

How have they held up? Is staining a horrible issue? Polished or honed? Am I crazy to install limestone in my kitchen? Is travertine or slate or marble a better choice?

My lawn has developed a few patches here and there and I was wondering if it was too late in the year for sowing a bit of grass seed to fill in the exposed areas...........

I live in a council house and all the woodwork was painted battlship grey. I've painted over it, but I've now decided that it really needs to come off. Trouble is, there is some brown sticky stuff at the bottom of all the layers of paint, it looks like tar. I've tried blow torch and nito mors paint remover stuff, but neither one is really effective.

Anyone know of anything that's really good at shifting it?

We live in Maine and have our own well. The water smells no matter what temperature it is (hot or cold). Looks like we have a lot of iron in the water as well because the toilets and sinks get stained brown.

I can't afford to do any big work to it so painting would be it. The floor is white and blue stick-ums tile, the counters are cream color, and the cabinits are a darker wood.
