Find the difference between the two sets and add/minus that difference...

Shade? Water/drainage? Fertilizer(too much too little?)

Mulch? Neighboring plants?

Soil? Infestation?(check for flying critters or webs or 'dust').

Neighboring cats doing their business there(you would be surprised!)

Ocean(salt) spray? Had slugs so put down alot of salt???

Sprayed weed killer nearby? Any herbicide which may have blown or washed into that area?

Good luck... email and let me know how it goes!

i would say the hibiscus have to much water...i have not watered mine this yr at all and i live in kentucky...i watered the new seedlings i set out 2 or 3 times and now they are blooming just fine...the seedlings i have in a pot i kept them watered and they kept dying...now that i water the pot 1 or 2 times a month new seedlings have emerged and are growing good...after digging out some 4-6 inch tall seedlings i found that the roots grow deep

hibiscus roots grow deep so even though the ground it dry at the surface to the top 2-4 inches, then down to 10-12 inches there is probably enough moisture to keep the plant alive...we haven't had much rain in kentucky this year or at least in this area we havent plus i have clay ground that is hard as a rock right now and all my hibiscus are blooming very profusely

try not to water yours for the next month to see what happens...only water if the plant wilts but other than that let it go...it will thank you in the long run

They need water most definitely. They are withering with the heat wave, give them some shade. Also, if that is not the problem then check the soil. It should be moist to medium moist and dark.

Is it getting cooler? I bring my plant in when it starts to get colder. It stays green in the winter, but no flowers bloom. Then in the spring, I put it out, and it starts to bloom.

Sounds like it might need fertilizer. Or is it possible that it could be infected with bugs?
