Try www.behr.com and use their paint tools - you can pick a kitchen photo similar to yours and try out every color they have. What we usually do is buy a quart of paint and try it out before we go all out and paint. It is cheap - under $10 and saves time and money with possible mistakes - many paint companies offer trial size colors for under $5 - but I find those to be too small.

I painted my kitchen yellow and decorated with yellow and red. Either of those colors would look good with the color of your flooring and countertops. Here is an idea for a kitchen curtain (valance ) I purchased an inexpensive vintage red and white checked tablecloth off of ebay and made a valance out of it. I also had enough left over to make a table runner. I found some old kitchen items at the antique store to hang on the wall...cheese grater, potato masher, two old large slotted spoons with red handles that I tied together with rafia, etc....you can do a lot on a small budget...good luck and have fun! =)

Would you be open to a painting technique? If so get a marbleizing kit. then using the instructions do cream, white and blue marble walls. It pulls the colours in your kitchen together and will brighten it, while not conflicting with your cabinets. It also has the distinction of being different than what anyone else has. Unique!

I would choose a creamy pale yellow. Right now the combination of blue, white and yellow is really popular. Plus, you could purchase some blue canisters or dish towels and tie it all together.

I would choose a creamy, buttery yellow and accent with red. Just remember when choosing yellow paint that yellow, more than any other color, intensifies when it's on the walls. Choose much lighter than you think you should.
