I have big windows that get lots of full sun. A consultant recommends "soleil" sunscreen shades that cut out a lot of the light but keep the view. They are used commercially a lot, and aren't cheap. But they seem like a good solution.

I'm about to replace my mailbox and post. I live in Georgia. Where would I find a cheap and decent quality one (either at a store or online)? What do you think of those plastic ones (I think Rubbermad makes one)?

I am starting a little boutique store, and coming more from the angle of furniture repair. I have little sewing experience, and now I really want to learn the basics. I want a decent machine that will let me get creative. maybe with various materials.... What are the various options on a sewing machine, and what makes them valuable? I have seen $5 thrift store versions up to $400 models with digital readouts. Any buying tips?

I pulled the weeds constantly throughout the season, even sprayed a couple times....eventually they took over (it's some kind of crabgrass that sends shoots out and the shoots root and just take over a garden in no time) mulch was a futile effort.......I spent 6 hours yesterday, pulling weeds, and still have 4 hours to go...does the black 'fabric' you lay under your mulch, really help? I'm thinking about laying it in my flower beds next season....

I live in a fairly decent apartment complex. I keep my kitchen immaculate even to the point that I don't leave my trash can in the house. I went over to my cousin's apartment to reclaim some items that my grandmother gave her. She go evicted, left the apartment a wreck and the place was infested. Before I brought the items in to the house, I spayed them down with raid and cleaned them up. (so I thought) since then I've noticed I have major roaches. What's the best method to rid my apartment of them? Do bug bombs really work? I've been told boric acid as well. Help!
