Fill your entire water reserve with white vinegar. When half has been pulled thru the coffee maker, turn off and let it sit for 30 minutes. After waiting, turn on again and let the vinegar finish being pulled through. Then you need to clean the vinegar out of your reservoir by putting at least 3 full waters (fill water reservoir 3 times, you also need to use a clean filter each time, it also helps you keep track of how many you've done thus far) through to clean. Then finally clean all your removable parts...coffee pot and the basket where the coffee goes...preferably in the dishwasher which will get it cleaner than hand washing.
Good luck!!

I run vinegar through my coffee maker once and then several times with just hot water...And for the coffee pot..Ice with salt and swish around works great..But for a good clean..Go to the store and get those drop in capsule things that people use to soak their dentures and fill the pot with warm water and drop one in and let sit over night or for a couple of hours and the pot will look great..I just buy the generic ones cause I don't have false teeth yet..LOL LOL...

Measure 2 to 3 cups of vinegar and set aside.
Wash coffee pot thoroughly.
Fill up your coffee pot with hot water. (I.e. fill it with water minus the 2-3 cups of vinegar that you will use)
Turn on the coffee pot and add the hot water as you normally would to make coffee.
Then add in the vinegar and let it run through the coffee making cycle.
Let the cycle finish and repeat if necessary. When done you will notice that most of the stains if not all have been completely washed away.
Make sure that after you have cleaned it using the vinegar that you wash your coffee pot thoroughly and repeat the coffee making process with plain water.
Enjoy!

What Jennifer O said, but with vinegar also. To clean the coffee maker, there is a cleaner you can by at Gevalia.com or at Bed bath and beyond.

aside from putting it in a dish washer....u can leave the coffee maker pot for about atleast 4 hours (say overnight) with a drop of liquid detergent, a spoon full of vinegar (or about 20-30 ml of cola-any brand!) with warm water above to the line where u left ur coffee for a long time. it will just make the cleaning easier, but don't use a rough scrabber, it will leave some scratch marks on the glass (if urs is one). but please don't ever use bleach...best alternative, use any baby bottle cleaning agent...safer.

If you have used soap, throw it away!! Plain white vinegar, lemon juice and hot water all do a good job. There are special coffee-maker detergents available, check your supermarket or if there is a local restaurant supply store, they might stock this product. Good luck

You shouldn't use soap because it can make the coffee taste bad. For everyday washing, a rinse with hot water should do it. For heavier cleaning, they make a special solution for cleaning coffee pots.
