I have already tried the disks that you set in there path, and killed thousands of them with windex. Also my house is clean, and I took the syrup out of the pantry that they were targeting. Please help me figure out how to keep them from coming in. Hiring an exterminator is not currently an option for me. Thanks

We bought a nice unfinished alder bookcase and are painting it white to match a desk that we just bought.

We've been using an Easy Living Latex paint that was color matched and recommended for us by someone at Osh.

On another question, someone suggested that latex paint is not a good choice for furniture and that we should've went with an oil-based paint.

Can latex do a decent job? Should we switch to an oil-based paint? Assuming, we switch to an oil-based paint, do we have to sand off every bit of the latex paint and primer? Or can we just paint a coat of oil-based paint on top of the existing coat of latex?

Is there a book I can buy that will explain things like this to me?

I"m in the process of finishing my basement. The drywall is up, mudded, and sanded. What are the steps to do a knockdown ceiling? Does it need to be primed first and then do the knockdown?

The tub spins, but not at the high speed it should for the cycle I used. Some water is drained, but when the spin cycle is done I can still squeeze a lot of water from a piece of clothing. It is an older model Kenmore.

It seems like a very set in mold stain. It's light brown, and blotchy, only around the faucet area, and NOTHING I've tried has gotten rid of it. The tub isn't porcelain it's a porous plastic material, which is around the entire shower - kinda like the bath outfitter stuff. The stain seems set into the plastic though.

I've tried CLR, Lysol scum remover, and all those type of products... even abrasives like comet, scrubbing with an abrasive scrubber, and nothing works. Anyone have any idea how to get rid of that??? Are there cheap ways to refinish plastic tubs?

I have searched all the DIY stores and garden centres. I know they are not the most fashionable, but I like them. I was after 3 or 4 white high back, reclining chairs. Any help would be really appreciated.

Our Magolia tree has today been felled leaving a stump flush with the lawn. The aboralist suggested pouring sodium chloride on the stump and after a couple of weeks, burn the stump.
Our green fingered neighbour has suggested driving a copper nail into the stump instead.
I only want to grass it over eventually.
What's the general opinion?
