Should medical decisions be made by the patient and the person who has the medical training, who has the medical experience, and who has the most intimate contact with the circumstances; or should the decisions put into the hands of bureaucrats?

I went to sleep at about 12:45 last night and woke up at about 3:40. I was just laying on my pillow thinking, when all of the sudden it felt like something hit me in the head really hard. I've had concussions from football and been in a car crash so it kind of felt like that.
It hit me hard and then slowly wared off over about 5 seconds. I almost lost consciousness but I managed to stay awake. My first thought was that maybe a tree hit the house but it didn't. Then I thought maybe earthquake, but nothing had falling off my shelves and everyone else in the house (including my dogs) were still asleep. My only other guess is that maybe I had a seizure or something. I was so spooked I didn't get back to sleep for another hour. Can anyone help me?

I have a mole and a few days ago i scratched it by accident then a darker mole is on top of my normal mole
and today I picked the darker mole and its half off my arm
Will i get skin cancer?
What should i do?

im 14 about 5'6'' and i weight about 262 ...do you think its possible to lose about 30-50 pounds by august 23,2007....i have dance dance revolution and i recently got a basketball hoop...i got a south beach diet book....but i havent started yet...and im always tired when i get home from school...i was active but not as much now.....another reason is i think it will make me feel better about myself physically ...mentally(health wise) because im always complaining about stuff and i think most of it comes from being overweight... being scared something is wrong (health wise)...and another thing im pretty fast for my weight but i dont have stamina and energy and i think i have a weak immune system so sometimes i get sick somehow when i exercise.......

1.does south beach diet work
2.is it possible to lose that much weight
4.will it make me healthier and strengthen my immune system
3. any other stuff yall want to tell me to motivate me :)
6. will it give me more energy , stamina, and speed

it does for me, also I can make my whole body tingle, it's awsome, and get a real orgasm doing that. who else can do that? the tingling i'm talking about goes through my arms and legs and everywhere i do it just by thinking it. some people call it grounding. i'm not sure

I had surgery recently and am using hydrocodone to relax me and fall asleep. I took a tablet a few hours ago, but it doesn't seem to be doing anything. Can I take a Xanax tablet to help me fall asleep now. Its been 4 hours. I can't fall asleep and am having terrible anxiety. I know I need to handle it better, but right now this is all I have. Will anything bad happen if I take this one tablet?

ok i was just wondering (i know your probably gonna think im talking about me in friend form) my friends are total and complete idiots and they took aderhol.. but they dont have ADD. all of the side effects have worn off so far, but their tongues were blue and they had fevers.

the coworker call in to work because her son broke his toe and needed medical treatment. As the employer does not allow time off for a child her doc wrote out an excuse for her that she was unable to work. The employer contact the docs office and obtained the real reason she was off. Is this a violation of HIPAA? they used this information to deny her holiday pay.
