My mom has had REALLY bad stomach problems, like yesterday her stomach hurt really bad and it wouldn't go away. And then today, she went to the bathroom, and there was blood in her stool, she said it was really bad. Her stomach has always had problems like this, but now, its just really bad...
does anyone know what this could be?

Some common problems are IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrome) and Chron's Disease. If the blood was bright red, then it may be from a problem with constipation and hemorrhoids where the hard stools cause the hemorrhoids to bleed. She should have a colonoscopy to make sure her large colon is normal.
Her doctor will answer her questions and test her for problems including a blood test which can help diagnose the problem.

This could be anything really, frequent stomach upsets can be caused by IBS (irritable bowel syndrome) which is fairly common & can be treated with drugs, well it can help alleviate symptoms anyway. She could just have constipation, how's her diet? if she lacks fibre this can cause stomache troubles. I don't want to worry you but persistent troubles with going to the toilet or often having blood in your stools can be a sign of something more serious so like everyone else has said she's best off going to the doctor.
If I were you I'd just do as much as possible to make her feel comfortable, go out to the drug store/pharmacy and get her an over the counter treatment for now to help, book her a dcos appointment & let her take it easy. Make sure she gets lots of fibre too.

She NEEDS to go to the doctor. It sounds like a bleeding ulcer, but I'm not a doctor who knows her history or can look at her other symptoms.

Get her to a doctor NOW. If there's blood in her stools or vomit, get her to a doctor ASAP>

Ulcerative colitis, ischemic colitis, Crohns disease - all of these can cause stomach pains, cramping and bloody stool. See a Doctor as soon as possible, of course, but please don't think that these things are always cancer. They won't be fun but there are treatable (although not always curable). Good luck and DON'T WORRY!

PS - I have one of these and it is an inconvenience but not much more than that. I promise that I'll say a prayer for you and your Mom.

Hey it could just be something she'll have to have one-off tabs for on ther other hand it could be a bowel condition, that would explain the tummy problems.
Best thing is to get it checked out, i had the same situation- don't suffer in silence!
Good luck and hope it is something he can easily sort out for your mom xx

You really don't want to guess at something like this. Take your mom to see a doctor ASAP. If insurance is a factor look for a free clinic,; If she does not qualify then she may consider:

blood is never a good sign this is serious, it could be a stomach ulcer but can be as deadly serious as bowel cancer. even the stomach ulcer can make her anemic and she can die from shock, if she has a big bleed. she could also have a perfriated bowel which could cause her bowel contents to leak into her blood stream causing septisemia which could give her brain damage or kill her. she should go straight to hospital now!!!

did this ever happen before? the symptoms can suggest a lot of diagnoses, among them cancer is also a possibility. She needs to see a surgeon as soon as possible.

you need to avoid outside food. since you are busy in meetings and outdoor work you need to carry tiffin with you. even carrying water bottle will be helpfull as outside water is not potable especially in rainy season. fatty liver is not anything major. do not take any medications without medical advice.
