On Tuesday of last week I woke up with this extreme burning sensations behind my breast bone. My family decided it was most likely just heart burn, and gave me and antacid and told me it will go away all on it's own. It is now Sunday and this feeling has yet to go away. I am unable to eat any food because as it travels to my stomach once it reaches that spot behind my sternum it causes extreme discomfort. I went to the doctor and he prescribed me some medication(I have yet to pick it up) I can't swallow any pills though and I haven't eaten a real meal in 3 days now. Any suggestions?

Basically I haven't been able to eat for 3 days because I feel if I eat I will throw up. Also, staying alseep for a while is a problem now. Even on the weekend I cant seem to stay alseep past 9 am, even if I go to bed at 5 am. Usually I over sleep, but now it's harder to get a good nights rest. In example, I went to sleep at 4:30 am on friday night, woke up on saturday morning at 8:30 am, and then went to work. My work is basically a job where I do exercise the whole time, but I didn't felt tired the whole day. Can anyone tell me whats up?

In the start of my baseball season we did alot of hard sprinitng. I realized after one day doing sprints my right lower back muscle or bone just above my butt hurt very bad. So i rested it. The next morning it was better. It kept doing this for a about two weeks. Then finally it went away for about 3 months. Now 3 days ago i did sprints and i got an even worse pain to the ponit where it hurts to jog, bend, stretch. The thing is now the pain hasnt gone away at all. What is this and what is it caused from???

I was told that I may have CTS - I am right handed and it is only in my right hand. The third finger (next to index finger) gets stiff and locks when I am sleeping and my fingers are bent. I wake up and can not straighten my one finger - I must do it manually. I was told this might be because of the use of the mouse and the way you hold that finger when clicking with the index finger. Has anyone else ever had this or heard of this? Is there anything I can do besides surgery?

Spinal specialist says I need a double fusion, my husband a single. Who has had these and how long were you laid up, meaning not be able to do anything? I don't expect to get right back up and work right away I mean light things, shopping, garbage, pain, bending etc. I was told by the specialist that I would be able to do anything I wanted in 6 months, this is the double fusion. he uses Titanium and bone. For a single fusion, please tell us. The pain has gotten worse and we are tired of feeling like disabled fools. This specialist does nothing but spines. he is supposed to be one of the best in te Chicago area. So How did you feel after the operation and for how long?? Thanks to all that answer.

Are there any medications that can help stop chronic neurological pain in quadriplegics? Something that does not make the person tired or the feeling of being high.

I had orthoscopic surgery almost a week ago to remove some loose bodies resulting from a transient dislocation. The knee itself feels pretty good, and I can tell that that they removed the problem.

However, my inner thigh, just above the knee, is in a lot of pain. It is swollen and hurts to the touch. Is this normal? Is it a reaction to the fluids injected during surgery? When should the pain subside?

Okay, I'm 16 years old and I'm in the 11th grade. Sometimes I feel like I have heartburn, but then I'm kind of too young to have that (right?). Um, I used to be in track, but in 7th and 8th grade I noticed that my running was slowed down by shortness of breath. Lately, I've noticed that my right side of rib cage is ... deeper than the left one. Does anyone know what organs are protected on the right side? And does anyone know if I should be worried about it because right now when I breathe it feels uncomfortable in that area. It doesn't have a very painful hurt, but it just feels weird. Yesterday, I had nausea and I felt like vomitting. Can anyone help me please? Thanks.

I just started having this problem recently. After standing or walking for a few mins, I start having pains in my lower back. I started having this problem after starting my new job for about 3 months now. At my job I am sitting for 8 hrs; daily. Just the other day when playing volleyball for about 20 mins, my lower back went numb and it started spreading to the whole bottom half of my back; so i had to sit down for a bit so the pain and numbness can go away. Has this happened to anyone else due to countless hrs of sitting? I don't have any time or money to get checked, but if this is a serious problem, I may have to. I'm wondering if theres exercises I can do to help this problem. Any feedback would help. THank You.

I hurt my knee today in softball. I slid from third to home. There wasn't much dirt there so when I slid my pad came down. I also slid a little late. When I got back to the dugout after being called safe I pulled down my pad because my knee really hurt. I was shocked to see my whole knee bleeding. I got napkins and water and whipped it off. My coach also gave me a bandage. They didn't have anything else. Now it looks like my knee got split in the middle. The cut isn't that deep but it is extreamly painful and stings. What can I do?

I put disinfection on it already and a bandage, but it stings.. HELP!!!

I'm VERY athletic and I use my knees a lot. I'm only 12. I don't want my future athletic carreer to be affected by my knee problems. I play basketball a lot and sometimes when I jump my knees give out. Its mostly my left knee right under my knee cap. Some people said it might be stress fractures and others say its osgoods schlauter. I have no idea I just want help on how to save my knees before I can't play basketball any more.

sooo....i hate to get this personal. but i asked a question about how one should change their life after back surgery..and one suggestion was that an active sex life was not really going to be healthy. i have had back surgery..and i have had sex since then...not a profound amount..but a lot...i dont have pain afterwards...maybe a little before hand if i had just woken up. but is there a real danger from having sex? i know heavy lifting is out, and twisting. but what about sex? or biking? or roller coasters? i dont really have pain after doing any of these things. Maybe a little soreness in the back..but thats it.

My 12 year old son has been suffering from the above for about 4 days now.He is generally healthy and well, except for this. They come and go on and off all day. When he gets the cramps they are around his abdominal area and about ten mins after they start he needs to go to the loo immediately and the diarhorrea runs out of him. As soon as he has been to toilet he is fine, but it has been happening 3 or 4 times a day. Any one any idea what this might be. I am taking him to docs on Monday about it but should i be worried about it.
