Keep up his fluids, plain water is best (with maybe a pinch of salt and a teaspoon of sugar per pint), and take him to the Doctor on Monday. Its probably an acute gut infection which will be cleared out by the diarrhea. Check that there isn't any blood in the stool which the Doc will probably ask about. A little plain boiled rice wouldn't do him any harm, and might make him feel a bit better. The main thing is to clear out the bowel infection, so avoid any "stop up" medicines like Imodium. When it has cleared, plain yoghurt helps to reestablish normal bowel bacteria and function. Check this with the Doc on Monday
Hope all's well by mid week.

It can be so many things. Try some Imodian ( E Mo D im ). It balances out the water in your system. It is over the counter.
One day I had bad cramps and iaherria I thought I would have to go to the ER. !0 min. later, it cleared me. Make sure he is getting a lot of clear fluids.
The only other thing that makes me that way is nerves. Is he upset about something or worried.?
In all cases, I would send him to the doctor anyway just in case it is more serious.

Firstly, dont let him eat too much and make sure he drinks plenty of water. Dehydration is the main problem with a runny bum, so plenty of fluids, preferably rehydration sachets like dioralyte. If you think he wont drink the sachets, (they taste pretty salty, even the flavoured ones) get a bottle of lemonade and let it go flat and get him to drink it. I know it sounds odd, but its got the right balance of sugars and salts that his body needs to keep hydrated.
I have always given flat lemonade with my kids for this problem, my doctor has recommended it and I recommend it to customers in work (I am a pharmacy dispenser).
If he wants to eat, make it plain crackers or biscuits.
You can take tablets or liquids medicine from the pharmcy to help, but sometimes I do think its better to let it run its course and get it out of the system.
If it was proper food poisoning, he would be feeling pretty bad in between the toilet visits, but you say he is fine, so i would say it was just a normal stomach virus.
The other thing to consider is whether he is happy with things at the moment, check if he is happy in school etc, as school stress, bullying, teen problems can cause these sort of things to appear.
I hope he gets better soon.

Give him some Activated Charcoal. You can get it at a health foods store. Activated Charcoal absorbs poisons & toxins so if his problem is caused by a bad food or a 'bug' it will help. It'll only hurt him if he takes too much - that causes constipation.
Have him drink lots of water to keep hydrated.
If he has been on anti-biotics he's probably having an adverse reaction to them. They kill intestinal flora which causes diahrea. If that's the case get him some Acidophalis at the health food store. It can't hurt him if taken by directions.
Don't wait until Monday if you can stop it now!

this could be from something he ate. A mild case of food poisoning. It could also be irritable bowel syndrome. For now have your son only eat white rice, baked potatoes, bananas, liquid soup. This is going to slow down the intestines. Make sure he is drinking lots of water and sports drinks. Imodium Is the best medication to stop the diarrhea, one tablet after every bowel movement.
I am sure you will be relieved when you can get to the doctor and get an answer to this problem.

Go to your Doctor yesterday. There is a risk your son could be suffering from appendicitis, in which case he needs immediate hospitalisation. Given that it is Saturday, I would try your hospital's A&E department. Untreated, appendicitis can result in a burst appendix, with resultant peritonitis, which can be fatal.

It is probably a simple gasto infection, which could be due to lots of different things. Food poisoning can be a cause it sounds severe if its been going on for so long. give him lots of liquids and no solid food. However see a Dr ASAP if he gets worse

I don't think you should be worried as it wont help you or your son. My little brother suffers from the same conditions it has recently been diagnosed as stomach migraines he is the same as your son fit and healthy apart from these cramps I hope this helps you.

it could either be gastroentiritis, or maybe a food intolerance, dairy can cause this, also gluten, or even irritable bowel syndrome, your gp will be able to advise more, keep fluid intake up, also dioralyte will replace the salts lost
