For a very long time I've had bad painful knots in the same spot in my upper back. Sometimes for little parts of the day I don't feel them, but usually they hurt a lot on a regular basis. I've tried laying on a golf ball, I've had my friends/parents try and massage it out, I've tried to massage it out myself, and I use icy hot patches on it and the pain goes away for about an hour after i take the patch off, but it always returns to the same spot. I swim everyday for 2 hours and I do a dryland workout that involves medincine ball throwing, and I carry a backpack around school all day but it's usually very light. Could those be reasons for my back feeling this way, and if so, how can I get rid of these back knots, and what can I do to prevent them from coming back? Should I get a professional massage, or are there things I can do at home to help? Are there any stretches I can do to loosen them up? Feedback is appreciated. =]

I don't even want to get up and answer the door right now. Is it ok to just say "not at this time, I just can't"?

While sitting here answering questions? Perhaps there is an ergonomically efficient way to go about this. Any idea?

I'm currently experiencing sharp jabbing pains in the left side of my chest, right below my "pectoral". I can feel a strong, but not racing, heartbeat. I've had random pains, but this is very painful and It hurts when I inhale too deeply. I don't have a clue if this can help with clarification, but I'm 16, 5'8'' 135lb., athletic build. Can anyone please help me figure out what it is?

I'm 19 yrs old. Tonight i laid down to go to bed and I was on my right side and I felt a sharp pain go right under my breast. So, I laid still for like a minute then I moved to my back. The pain didn't stop for like 5 mins contuniously. And now, I took a hot bath to relax my body and now just sitting still or moving is triggering the pain. This happens like once a month but the pain only lasts for seconds...a lil background: I went to my female doc. last tuesday. She gave me a shot and said within 10 days I should have a period-the shot ups my hormone levels really high..if not more than likely I'm preg. -I have endometriosis. Is this a cause of the shot? What could it be? Should I go see a doc? I don't live with my mom but she's a RN & she said its just muscle & to put a heatin pad on it...just typing this is triggering the pain.

I don't think it's my heart, because the pains are on the right side.

I don't get them when running or doing sports, I usually get them once a day, when im sitting in class or sitting at home. Does anyone have any ideas what could be causing them?

Theres no shortness of breath, and I don't get any other pains in my body. When I get them if I stay perfectly still, usually in a couple minutes I am pain free again.
