Actually, this is one symptom of a heart attack. If you have stiffness around your chest or difficulty breathing call an ambulance or doctor.

Otherwise it could be referred pain, most likely from your back. Certainly worth consulting a doctor about, whatever it is.

If the Doc has checked you out you'll be fine, ask for a second opinion if not sure, you have a rite to one. If you are worried and you can not get it out of your mind, go to casualty and explain the problem to them, they will give you a more thorough work up than your GP can. However, the problem is most probably that you know that heart problems are associated with pain in the left arm/shoulder, and you are worrying about it. This is the classic symptom of a panic attack, the pain is their so you worry, the more you worry the more the pain hurts, so you worry more and the cycle goes on. I once had a stabbing pain when i breathed, it was only a small pain at first, but the more i worried about it, the worse it got, i finally ended up in hospital convinced i was having a heart attack at 24 years of age.

What is carpal tunnel syndrome?

Carpal tunnel syndrome is a specific group of symptoms that can include tingling, numbness, weakness, or pain in the fingers, thumb, hand, and occasionally in the arm. These symptoms occur when there is pressure on the median nerve within the wrist.

The carpal tunnel is a small space or "tunnel" in the wrist formed by the wrist bones (carpal bones) and a ligament (transverse carpal ligament). The median nerve and several tendons pass through the carpal tunnel from the forearm to the hand. The tendons are surrounded by tubes of tissue (tendon sheaths). The median nerve controls some movements of the thumb, and this nerve supplies feeling to most of the thumb and to the index finger, middle finger, and part of the ring finger.

This could mean that you need to visit a good chiropractor. Some of these signs tell me you could have problems with your neck, also. Do you have headaches? Besides the pain, do your hands go numb at any time? Upper back problems could be going on. Are they? Try to set up with someone who has a good reputation. Let me know what happens! Good luck.

It could be any number of things including, but not limited to nerve damage, carpal tunnel syndrome, or neuropathy due to another disease such as diabetes.

Get it checked out by a doctor.

Carpel tunnel is something you might want to ck out on line. Do you do repetitive work with your hands or type alot? You may want to consider a special keyboard.

sounds like a pinched nerve. A physician might prescribe muscle relaxers, a chiropractor will adjust it a few times.

i think it could be a pinched nerve, but anything with something running up and down an arm should be checked out to rule out any heart problems
