I am just wondering if I will be able to function while I am taking it. I don't have arthritis but she gave it to me for my back pain.

No, it is Lodiene. It is a medicine that they usually use to treat rheumatoid arthritis.

Do you mean Codeine...iodine is something completely different. Codein is a painkiller and pretty strong, but you will be able to function on it;

As the person above me said, you should be able to function just fine on this drug. It's in the same class as ibuprofen, Aleve, Naprosyn, and other NSAIDs.

Just make sure you take the medication with food or milk to avoid stomach upset. Also, the pharmacy should have given you a pamphlet about NSAIDs for you to read so you'll know what side effects to watch for and what to do. If they didn't, just go back and request one from the pharmacy.

It's Lodine and it is an antinflammatory medication and yes it's used to treat Rheumatoid Arthritis. It is an NSAID similar to Aleve. It will not cause you to not be able to function as it is not a narcotic pain medicine. You'll be fine, you may have some stonach upset that NSAIDS usually cause but nothing major.
