I am a special operations wh remembers the pain of becoming what I am today, I laugh now but I remember how bad I felt in training. so here's how it started my battle believes that a person can not die from sleep deprivation no matter how long they are kept awake, I on the other hand believe that if for example if a person was kept awake for 23 hours everyday for say 11 months that they would die and the cause would be sleep deprivation. Help me people

I really need my sleep, I have to have around 9 hours to feel half decent the next day, but sometimes I actually find it hard to know if when I thought I was awake I was actually still asleep. I have slept-walked my whole life and got into some pretty scary situations. Last night I know I had a bath and dried my hair but looking back it feels like I was asleep then, the things thats really worrying me is if I can be asleep but still drive! I often get to work and wonder if I was paying any attention and I have recently had an accident leaving work. I just dont know how I actually know im awake as I am so capable when asleep, just looking for advice.........

my friend told me that a few days ago he was laying in his bed watching a Horror flick. then all of a sudden he couldn't move at all or talk at all for like 5 minutes. he said he was so scared, tears even ran down his face. that nothing like that ever happened to him.

has anyone ever experienced this b4?

I was given local anaesthetic 2 days ago while the doctor stitched up my face... now part of my face is totally numb but this is no the part that was stitched up / anaestesised... that part I can feel again (above my eye) but my nose and part of my cheek are totally numb... a few days ago I was kicked in the face many times... is it numb because of the anaesthetic or because it is heavily bruised?

Also one of my eyes cannot open fully, I can see from it but it is heavily bloodshot(the part that is normally white is all red).. I am worried about internalt bleeding... some parts of my face hurt - others I cannot feel at all

So, I was home sick with a headache/stomach ache on thursday and friday and over the weekend it was still there. My throat was feeling a bit dry so I thought I might as well go get a strep test on saturday. It came out negative and they told me I had the flu. Now my throat hurts a little more. Is it possible I got strep throat after the test?

thanks!

I am in soo much pain right now. If you are easily grossed out... please leave. Ok... if I still have you... My "butt-hole" has been hurting really bad. Like when I walk it hurts soo bad like its burning and it hurts to walk. Then when I pee it hurts extremely bad. And sometimes it itches so bad I have to run to the bathroom but hurts too bad to itch. Do you have any clue what this is?

I've read so many medical questions here. Why waste time asking people online about your medical problems when there are doctors who go to school to know what is wrong and how to treat it.

To make a sad girl fel better and less tearful?

You know the type of person who is always happy and cheerful, there to cheer you up? Well thats me! That is,....usually, only not today, or for the past couple of weeks actually!

I am not sure what is the matter with me but i am stuck down and there is no escape. I need something but i am not sure what it is?

I am in the 'depths of despair' what can you say to cheer me up?

Can anyone explain why when you have had a bit of a strong mix - you get an attack of anxiety. It it the poison? Apart from the obvious solution is there a way to combat the effect.

I am asking these questions on behalf of my 75 year old Mother, who recently had an ischemic stroke in April and from the affects of the stroke my mother is no longer able to blink only from her (R) eye. Her eye seems to be painful and is receiving eye drops to help with dry eye.

She was seen by an optometrist in the fall and was informed that she has a cataract in that same eye (R).

She suffers with daily blurred vision and is fearful that she will lose her eyesight if she watches television, only because it seems to bother her.

If there is away that you could put her mind at ease and reassure her that this would not happen I feel that she would perhaps be more settling.

Can you suggest something for her in away of comfort and let us know if it would be essential to cover her eye with a patch?

My mother is a resident in a nursing home since her stroke and perhaps there is more they can do for her.

Sincerely,
Rose

I'm 13 years old, every time I set my alarm and it rings in the morning, I always turn it off then go continue my sleep. And when I wake up I always have to rush. Is there any techniques I can use to make me wake up right away without feeling sleepy. Like what time should I wake up and sleep, what time the alarm should go on, etc.

I would like to go to medical school and be a doctor because I would like to help others, and after many doctors having a large impact on my life I would really like to, but I have a chronic pain disability which is often times diabilitating so I don't know if medical school is possible for me. I'm currently a sophomore in high school. Any suggestions of what I could do to make it through medical school or alternatives that would still give me the same satisfaction of helping people (I would like to work with people that have the same or similar conditions to me)? I have a neurlogical condition which causes my pain.

This afternoon I found an object that looks like a spark plug and a small pair of scissors in my daughter's room. I also found a pair of scissors that have long points on them. The spark plug thing looks like it has tobacco or something in it. Is my daughter smoking pot? I guess that explains why she doesn't have a job.
