my friend told me that a few days ago he was laying in his bed watching a Horror flick. then all of a sudden he couldn't move at all or talk at all for like 5 minutes. he said he was so scared, tears even ran down his face. that nothing like that ever happened to him.
has anyone ever experienced this b4?

I would say your friend might have had a mild seizure, or even a stroke. People that have seizures usually don't remember them, but there are exceptions.
Your friend needs to get a check-up, and mention this to the doctor.

This is not normal. Your friend needs to be evaluated by his Doc and soon. There are several problems that can be associated with what happened. His Doc needs to be made aware. I hope that this helped some.
