I have a friend who has been in a coma for almost 3 weeks, but he is breathing on his own and not relying on machines to live, except for feeding. Yesterday, he opened his eyes and mouth, it looked like he was trying to talk but nothing but drool came out. He has been in a coma for a long time...will he survive this? If he opened his eyes, is he still considered to be in a coma?

I don't get drunk or obnoxious and it doesn't upset my wife, but I have more than the recommended amount, and I have expensive tastes (fine ales, single malts, vintage ciders). I would like to drink less but seem to just be in a rut with it or something.

I remember getting this vaccination when I was younger (and I remember it hurt like hell) and it left a scar. Looking on the internet I have read that it normally leaves a scar, but not one site I have found has explained WHY.

Can anyone tell me?

Been out a lot and really not having much sleep few hours if I'm lucky, is this okay? Or will it affect my health?

I have an on going debate with my girlfriend about this. Here's the argument:

She say's that its considered substance abuse when you take Nyquil when you ARE NOT sick and are just using it for the benefit of sleeping enhancement. I believe it is okay to drink Nyquil even when you are not sick just so you can fall asleep better.

So, I would like to know if this would be considered substance abuse or not?

Lately I've been massaging myself since no one I know can do it well enough besides a massagist, and I can't hire one everyday Lol. So, how do I find knots in my back?

Someone told me it felt like a bump, well how do I know it's not a bone?

My friend told me that a few times when she has drank wine, she ends up getting pain in both arms, her stomach and even her legs. It doesn't happen all the time, just once in awhile. She does not drink much at all, maybe once a month a few glasses. I have never heard of this and was wondering if anyone else has - found nothing on the internet linking occasional drinking with pain in the limbs. Wondering if it might be alcohol allergy, but then it should happen every time she drinks, which it does not. She said the feeling goes away after about an hour after she stops drinking. I know she is not an alcoholic, just a very occasional drinker - this sounds so strange to me! She is thin frame and in her 30's. Anyone hear of this before?

I have been sleeping for upwards of 12 to 16 hours everyday for a couple of months now. Its not that I am doing it on purpose, I just can't seem to get out of bed. Sometimes after being awake for only a few hours, I'll get tired again. It sounds like something that a person diagnosed with depression might have, but I don't feel depressed. I have had a lot of troubles in my life lately, but I've stayed pretty optimistic and hopeful through it all. Could it be that I'm just repressing something that might cause my over-sleeping?

Got up at 10pm, went into bed, fell right back to sleep. I noticed that I was awaking several times throughout the night, but having no trouble going back to sleep. I finally got up around 730am. I'm still tired. My body feels exhausted. I'm trying to focus on work, but my body just doesn't want to function. I was diagnosed with mild sleep apnea a few months ago, but wearing the CPAP mask is "invasive". I feel too confined and can't wait to get it off in the morning. I haven't been wearing the mask for the past week
