I have been out of work due to chronic pain. I have spine problems, thoracic outlet syndrome, and now recently found to have Vertigo/Vestibular disease. My balance is way off and always dizzy. The Doctor wants me to have vestibular rehab. I was told I shouldn't even drive now. I have no income and I don't know what to do. How can I get disability? I'm not able to use my right arm either, cannot lift anything over 1 pound, no repetitive work, can't do much.

Ever since I dislocated my Knee 2 years ago everytime it is cold or going to rain I get a ache in my knee. My boyfriend has told me to mention it to my doctor and he may send me off for a MRI scan. But I was wondering if anybody has had the same effect at all after this has happened to them.

I'm a martial artist and fighting yesterday I tore my groin completely, I'll be unable to walk properly for a fortnight and won't recover completely for nearly four months. Is there anything I can do to ease the pain and HOW do I survive being rooted to the spot for two weeks?

I am cureently taking some anti-biotics for a gum infection and i have been getting really bad pain in my stomach and now it has spread to my legs. At first it felt like i was brusied all over my stomach, when my clothes rubs against my stomach it was uncomfortable and it was unfortable to touch, now the pain has spread to my legs and the pain is worse in my leg than my stomach, when i walk and my trousers rub my leg it hurts and when im stnading or sitting i get sharp pains shoorting through my leg it is only in one leg my other leg is fine. Should anti biotics do this? I have rang my doctor but he never got back to me i have tried for a doctors appointment but couldnt get a appointment for today, im worried. is this anything to worry about?

im 15, a bit of a wuss. and ive had ingrown toenails, on BOTH feet. on BOTH sides of the toe. ive had em for ages, they have gone pretty deep, only hurt if i mess with em (e.g. trying to perform my own surgery, that didnt go well). other than that they give me little pain, but some days do throb/ they are not infected and show no signs of getting infected. so, whats gonna happen. we have the appointment with the chiropodist, they have said that unless i have a health problem which is affected by the toenail, then possibly no action will be taken. thats NHS for you. ive seen somevids on youtube, and im not happy, im just very scared. and the appointments next january. so im not going o be able to focus on my holiday or christmas, becasue the fact that im off to get my toe mutilated, is imminent.

btw anyone else here got bin to the nhs? what happened did they treat you or what?

I've been told that I need an Orthopedic evaluation for a job that I am applying for. I've also been told that the services will come out of my own pocket! I don't have insurance or a Doctor, so I'm not quite sure what to do. How much will this cost and where do I find someone who will do it without insurance? I live in St. Louis, MO!!

I have been diagnosed with arthritis last month but haven't been told yet what kind it is, since i'm still going through tests. First it was in my fingers and now its very painful in knees, wrists , elbows and ankles. I have trouble doing simple things like typing and walking. I'm prescribed with Prednisone, and i've been taking them for a week but there's no benefits yet. How long after would the effects show? I'm also taking omega 3. My question is, is it possible that i become healthy and be able to run and do things like i did, or does the arthritis get worse with age? Is there anyone out there who had their symptoms gone completely? If yes, then with what?

Hi,

I seem to have all the signs - it began with numbness in hands/feet, and has progressed to alternating 'burning' in my feet and legs in a number of weeks - I'm 22, do not have diabetes, and am terrified at the thought of living with this pain. Will it just get worse?

Hi, I have been on Pain Management succesfully for almost three years, but my pain doctor closed shop. I cannot find any pain doctors in central nj who will prescribe narcotics, and I desperately need them...they are the ONLY thing that works, I have multiple chronic pain conditions. I am on disability for them as well. If you know of anyone kindly contact rnrhoney at gmail.com thank you, andrea

I have had a mild migraine since Monday morning. It doesn't throb, it is in my forehead, around my eyes and between them. It won't go away. I've taken Tylenol, had enough to eat, drank plenty of water, and it won't go away.

What do I do?

I'm gearing up to quit smoking the 1st of the year...(AGAIN) I once quit for 3 months, then suffered a trauma and started up again. Several of my friends have used Chantix and say it works. The worst for me will be in the mornings with my coffee sitting at the computer. Any tips you'd care to share are greatly appreciated! Thanks!

okay...yesterday, my arm had kept going numb and tingly and feeling like my funny bone was being hit, but really wasn't. then my had would cramp up and it would hurt extremely badly to move them.

now today, if i put pressure on my hand, and it moves back toward my arm as if i were leaning on them, i get a shock of major pain and my hand gets all tingly but if i hold it straight, in a matter of minutes the pain goes away...this does not happen in my other arm...any idea of what it could be?

oh and i don't work out because i was recently diagnosed with mono. so it cant have anything to do with that.

thanks!

I'm on a large dose of oxycodone for an extended period of time. I know that one of the side-effects is constipation, and it seems to me that it is brought on by dehydration. I'm not cetain of this, just speculating, so please don't just say, "Drink lots of water", unless that's really worked for you. I'm looking for people with first-hand experience, and solutions.

Note: I respect chiropractic and understand that it can help for maintance of minor back pain/discomfort. I know this because I occasionally see a chiro for my back, and the adjustments feel good and clear up mild back/neck pain.

But a friend of mine has very severe back pain, and has had this for a long time. And although chiropractic has offered some relief, even after numerous visits, the pain has not diminished and continues to persist. So I'm curious to find out, what other alternatives are there for individuals with severe, chronic back pain? (other than simply popping pain killers, of course)

Acupuncture is out of the question, as insurance wont cover this service for them.

Thoughts or suggestions?

Thanks.

My partner had a kidney stone in Germany 12 years ago, they treated it successfully and no further problems. This morning at 4am he woke up in excrutiating pain, I made him a hot water bottle, no temperature or anything like that - then he was very sick with lots of bile - we think this may have dislodged it because it is not painful anymore - will it return do you think? He is taking a urine sample to the Docs later today. What is the treatment?
