Yep not nice is it? I am on Fentanyl Patch and Constipation is not nice and a impacted bowel is worse. What happens is the we do not get enough liquid into the bowel and it has zero to do with drinking. It means liquid as in fruit and the best fruit have one or two a day ONLY are Prunes. Nice juicy plump prunes, they take the liquid into the bowel and you are cured. I have tried everything including the stool softeners, finally landed on Prunes and am sticking to them like glue! Do not go over the top, eat five, because you will never get off the toilet, start with one a day and see how many you need. Good Luck.

I've the same problem, as I've been on OxyContin for the last six months. As far as I know, the constipation isn't caused by a lack of water, but rather the activation of opioid-receptors in the GI tract. Unfortunately, this side-effect is relatively unavoidable with long-term opioid use. Personally, I supplement my diet with psyllium fibre, and use stronger laxatives only sparingly. For a recommendation that best suits for your particular case, a physician or pharmacist could be consulted.

FIRST AVOID MEDS AND FOLLOW ALTERNATE SYSTEMS.
There is no medicine for H/A OR MIGRAINE. Not only these but for RA, OA, Back ache and almost all painful diseases. Hence they become chronic.
Acidity, WORRY, sadness, excessive wind, cold , heat, sour food and sinusitis, constipation, intestinal inflammation; drug side effects, stress, bad smell, TV & COMPUTER SOMETIMES,
Blockage in the flow of Vital Energy, BODY CONSTITUTION etc are their causes. None of them can be treated with medicine. Our 100% success in treating migraine &H/A confirms it.
Acupuncture is the best treatment.
I can treat it with naturopathy and YOG, but how can you manage pl see.
Pain killers don't treat the pain but we loose the sense of pain for some time; in that duration our body itself treats sometime and credit goes to meds.
The useless drugs have tremendous power of side effects like liver/kidney failures, ulcer, inflammation of intestines and lot more.

If you wish to understand the actual nature of sciatica or why sciatica is so common and what each one of these pains want to inform to the human body you then need to read this eBook Sciatica SOS from here https://tr.im/QsMHQ .
Glenn Johnson is mcdougal of Sciatica SOS. He too was affected by the condition for really a long time in his early 40s. He claims he was on the list of “Early worms to be identified as having sciatica”, and he used a number of possible remedies that the health practitioners offered, however they never offered him sufficient results.
The eBook Sciatica SOS is distinctive; it moves the excess mile to help you understand the cause of the problem, what you are able to do to solve it and then offers step by step recommendations to help you succeed in the treatment.
All this can be achieved in a week or less. It is certainly worth a try.

yes, lots of fluids. a stool softener (not a laxative...that just dehydrates more) and eating more fiber also helps.
when you come off, you'll spend a lot of time in the bathroom, so be prepared. also, the pushing/pressure could cause hemmorhoids. get some tucks or prep H.
you can try a cleansing/detox tea from a natural food store.

A high fiber diet and lots of water is what works. Otherwise, you can get a product like Metamucil or some tasteless fiber substitute that you can mix in water or beverages, that will help.

Staying hydrated is the KEY! Drink tons of water and COFFEE in the am to help keep you regular. I also added a larger portion of fruit and veggies to my diet which has made the issues not as noticeable. Also you can try peracolace (SP?) which will help with the issues as well.
