ok. i have some kind of injury to my achilles tendon. we dont know what exactly, but i cannot walk on it or it hurts like heck. it hurts when im not touching it. it also feels like there is something moving in my back of my foot. the doctor will prolly say its a bad strain...so what do you think he will do to it (cast?boot?crutch?aircast?WHATY?)

All sprains feel like that? Relax, it will hurt constantly..

As for the moving aroung, maybe you have an alien larva in your tendon :)

It does sound like a very nasty sprain. You'll want to wear a supportive bandage or maybe even a soft cast on that foot until it stops hurting. I don't think the doctor will use a hard cast, since nothing is actually broken.

For any strain you need the 'Rice' Treatment any first aider will tell you to Rest, Ice, Compress, Elevate = RICE.

Rest your foot by keeping off your feet.
Ice apply an Ice back to avoid swelling.
Compress apply a crepe bandage to add support.
Elevate raise your foot and when your in bed try and keep it level with your heart as a rule.

If after 48 hours it still hurts go and see your doctor.
and remove the crepe bandage before you go to bed.

you can also take paracetamol every 4 hours but read the directions on the back of the packaging.
and take as directed.
