I'm a martial artist and fighting yesterday I tore my groin completely, I'll be unable to walk properly for a fortnight and won't recover completely for nearly four months. Is there anything I can do to ease the pain and HOW do I survive being rooted to the spot for two weeks?

I have seen a doctor, and it's not a strain, it's a complete tear. When will I be able to fight again?

I play football and have pulled/torn a few groins in my day. The key is a lot of rest and no abrupt movements, i.e. move slowly and don't change direction quickly. You should apply ice and wrap it up with either and ace bandage or by wearing compression shorts (biking shorts).

What you mean is you have a typical Football injury a Groin Strain. Sore yes, however you can still walk, sit, lay down, painful yes, but you can still walk, sit, lay down. It just means you will have to take life easy until it heals and then the fun starts. If you think after four months you will be able to go straight back into martial arts, forget it, the muscles will be weak and you will strain the groin again. Good Luck
