Ever since I dislocated my Knee 2 years ago everytime it is cold or going to rain I get a ache in my knee. My boyfriend has told me to mention it to my doctor and he may send me off for a MRI scan. But I was wondering if anybody has had the same effect at all after this has happened to them.

There is a form of arthritis called traumatic arthritis. It is the result of an injury as you have described. In mild cases it manifests itself as you describe. The reason is due to changes in atmospheric pressure. Cold air causes a marked increase in air pressure, rain causes a marked decrease. This can aggravate any inflammation we have in our joints.

Just an educated guess.

My knees became extremely sore about 4 years ago and I had a couple of operations. I was desperate and researched it on the internet, then bought books and learned physiotherapy exercises.

I have done the physio exercises which take about an hour each session every other day for about 18 months and since then i have supplemented them with additional exercises in the gym.

My knees are still not what they were when I was 25, but they are 100% better now than a couple of years ago. The only drawback is that I have to make sure I keep doing the exercises which can be time consuming - just get lots of DVDs to watch.

Google on knees and look it up on Amazon, or see a good physio.

I lost my left leg below the knee in a motorbike crash 4 yrs ago, the knee was also badly dislocated at the time and was corrected after the amputation, since then i get really bad aching knee from time to time, so much so that i cant walk, i wear a prosthetic now which is great, i spoke to my GP about it, and he gave me anti-inflammatory pills called, Diclofenac, whenever i feel it coming on, i take these and it eases it hugely!! Ask your doc bout them!!

I use to be very athletic; running track, basketball etc.... Now I have the same symptoms in my knees as well. It is early signs of arthritis in the joints. I know when the wheather is about to change because I feel my knees starting to ache. (Now I know how my grandma felt)
