When I quit smoking in 1991, I didn't set a date. I decided to quit with 6 cigarettes left in a pack. At my job I asked my friends to ask me each day how I was doing while waiting at the time clock. I had enough friends that did that for me. Out of respect for the game I tried harder. I carried that pack until it fell apart with 5 1/2 cigarettes in it (a minor relapse after a spousal disagreement). I have not smoked since. Good luck.

I have been a heavy smoker since i was 14. Most people would probaly tell you that you should quit becasue of cancer. That didnt stop me at all. I watch family member after family member get sick of lung cancer. Still i didint quit. One day though i was jumping on the trampoline with my cousins and literallyi was on for2 mintues when i had to stop i mean i felt like i could barely breathe. That was my eye opener. I went from smoking 5 a day to 4 then the nextweek i would smoke 3 a day and so on. Once i got down to none a day i would chew sugarless gum

You need to be congratulated regarding trying to stop smoking cigarettes. It is not easy however the benefits are very well worth it.
Try to quit frosty turkey. Is it doesn't easiest when you dont have any kind of lingering troubles once you defeat the actual physical withdrawal signs which completes in about a week. It is all in your mind.

I've heard it really helps to avoid situations that you relate to smoking. Since sitting at the computer with your coffee would spark a craving, try to avoid that routine. Use your computer then take your coffee to another room or try in some other way to change that routine.
Good luck! I quit for four years once & am back at it. It's the hardest thing to quit and non-smokers cannot relate!!!

Cigarettes cause cancer, that should be reason enough, but as a smoker I know that doesn't make us quit still. I would consider the chantix, and with will power and determination I think you'll do just fine, if you really want to quit, you will quit, it really is that easy. If u don't want too you wont period.

I commend your efforts. I am only an occasional / casual / social smoker, so I can't really relate. Sorry I don't have anything more than to wish you best of luck.

Perhaps a search for "quit smoking" + "natural ways" might be of interest.
