My mom is 50 years old heavy chain-smoking woman for years. She is on her 3 packs a day habit with no intense to quit or cut it down. She is smoking for about 25 years, and she is always with a ciggie in her mouth smoking like a chimney and every day she smokes more and more. She also likes to smoke two cigs at once saying that she really needs to smoke more to feel good. In a recent years she started to smoke cigars on a daily purpose, she is really deeply inhaling them and says that she likes big smoke that fills her inside. She has a female friends about her age, who also smokes a lot and when they come to our house it is smoke everywhere i'm almost out of breath.
And my mom changed a lot. She looks older than she is, she got wrinkles on her face too early, she has a yellow tar stained teeth and very bad breath, she is always coughing a lot and constantly out of breath, sometimes i noticed that she is feeling dizzy, but she says she is ok and that she needs to smoke.Is it problem?

It either randomly hurts or hurts when I bend that side. It is below the bone, almost under. It isn't my appendix because thats too low. Its has been hurting all day (7:30-Now) What is it?

I hurt my self in dance class . I think i spranged my ankle . My dad wont take me to the doctors because we dont have any insurance or money right now . And well I dont have a mom to take me . Were can I buy a cast or something or get some crutches something ??? I can barly walk on it . My dad isnt trying to be mean he just doesnt wanna spend all that money and well I understand that . Its just I have a dance recital in a couple weeks . And then the talent show is coming up to and im supose to be a dance to that . So really what should I Do ?? cause I can barly walk . Thanks ! it happened about an hour ago, my eye is a little sore, theres a red mark the size of a bb on the white part. Its also a little bloodshot, my vision in that eye has gone a little blurry but i think its coming back, i can focus up close.

Problem is its 1am, is it worth going to the A&E or should i just wait and see what its like in the morning?

I have a class from 2:00-3:15 p.m. but every time I am in that class I fall asleep. I don't know what to do. I have tried the whole cup of coffee thing, (as for soda and energy drinks, no thanks what so ever) but that does not work. I get enough sleep at night. What is going on? Can some one out there give me an idea.

I've heard of doctors writing prescriptions for their wife or kids, but what about themselves? Like can he diagnose himself with something and write out a prescription? Wouldn't he look weird walking into a pharmacy with a prescription from himself? Would he even have to go to a pharmacy? Please advise. ty.

I have an abscess on my inner thigh. It 'popped' last Friday, and has been draining fluid since. I am on antibiotics, and have been keeping it clean.

Would doing physical excercise cause me any problems? Even if I keep the area tightly gaused?

Two weeks ago I began doing more cardio, which irritated the abscess. But now that it's burst and mostly drained, should I be okay to resume exercise?

He was in a crash on September 23 with a dislocated wrist, compound fracture to the ankle, and several broken toes and fingers. For the last few days I've noticed an increase in my anxiety. I've been more jittery than ever. My blood pressure has slightly increased, its not high yet but in the upper normal range. Each morning I wake up and my stomach irritates me. It irritates me from time to time and settles down when i eat. Im not sure if its stress related or something worse. I am a hypochondriac so now i think i got diabetes or something else like a stomach ulcer. I havent been eating healthy lately but the last few days i tried to because of my stomach. Im hoping this is all stress cause ive been very stressed with school work and preparations for college. I am only 17 but i have bad anxiety and bad hypochondria. I currently see a doctor for anxiety but havent been to a physician lately and am trying to get to one within the next few weeks. My left leg also feels weird sometimes, it doesnt feel weak but a little different. Im mainly concerned about my stomach right now and is why i think i have diabetes

OK, this is kinda gross, but a serious question. Sometimes I get these little things in my mucus, like when I hock up stuff. They're small, about the size of a small pebble (maybe 1/3 the size of a tic-tac), and not much color, a bit yellowish. They're kinda bumpy looking, and soft. If I put it on my finger, I can smell it. But if I break it apart/mash it in my fingers, oh my god, it reeks horribly like a bathroom or outhouse type of smell, kind of smells like butt or dirty socks. I have no idea what these are and I get them randomly, not just when sick or something like that. What the hell are these smelly nuggets? Some kind of lymphatic waste?

I have been having back and neck pains lately. Nothing that is bothering my majorly, but it is bothering me. I wear a prothesis, so I am sure that has something to do with it. No matter how many times I stretch throughout the day, it still doesn't help. I have been thinking about going to see a chiropractor, but I have heard once you go, it may be hard to stop. I would have no problem with stopping. Just wanted to see some opinions. Thanks.

The last disk in my back is herniated. It hurts pretty much all the time if I don't take my medicine. I've been on pills for about 3 years and I really don't want to take them for the rest of my life. Has anyone had the surgery? If so what was the procedure and did it work? I've heard they do it endoscopic now too and I'm interested to hear if it works.

Hi there i have had a sore back under my left shoulder blade for over 3months sometimes when i reach over to the right of my body the pain gets worse and it also feels as if its goin down my rib as well and also when i take deep breaths the pain gets worse , I went to the chiropractor about 10 times and its stil the same, Really starting to put me mad! cant get the pain to ease even for a minute, any 1 else have these sympton??
