My ankly is still swollen and i injured it on the 2nd of july. i've been going to physio since the end of july and the swelling is still the same size, my physiotherapist just started accupuncture and it feels great at the time, but the swelling comes back. my mri showed that i have partially torn two ligaments and split a tendon, the radiologist also said that i have tenosynovitis. I have a fibergalss brace and it's fine when i have it on but why wouldn't the swelling have gone down. I can walk without the brace, it doesnt' hurt so much anymore unless i am resting my foot on its side.

any ideas about why or what i should do. i go for a follow up on the 24th of September and i just don't know what to ask the dr.

My boyfriend has arthitis in his back and sciatica and is always in pain. The doctor gave him loratabs and is suppose to take 1 every 4-6 hours. He's been on them for a few months now and he says that if he doesn't take them his whole body feels like crap. He wants to stop taking them but everytime he tries he gets horrible withdraws from them and starts taking them again just to get rid of the crappy feeling. I know no matter what he's going to have withdraws but is there anything I can do to make it not so rough on him?

I've experimented with a lot of martial arts, my most recent being Capoeira and, because the gymnastic movements put a lot of strain on my wrists, I've been out of commission for several months now.

I'd like to go back to Capoeira again some day, but not until my wrist has healed and strengthened.

The problem is that I'm studying to be a graphic designer, so I do a lot of typing and computer-based work, which doesn't help with a wrist injury.

Can anyone, preferably people with backgrounds in fitness, personal training or sports injuries, put forward any suggestions for first repairing and then strengthening my wrist muscles?

I have a pain in my leg for the past few hours (since I got up) It's just below my knee, kind of in my shin bone. My leg feels and looks the same (no heat, no swelling) - it reminds me of a growing pain that kids get. It's slightly worse when I am sitting down.
Any suggestions?

I've had 2 c-sections and I was aware of my surroundings during the ops even though I was given anaesthetic. I felt the baby(s) being pulled out I heard everything the docs said - I felt like I was under a great weight trying to breathe (tube) I even felt a burning sensation when the incision was made. Even writing this I getting scared again. One doc called me 'Jayne Fonda' so when I repeated this to my non-believing gyno even he was shocked. The 2nd one I heard then ask what the first baby was girl or boy? I heard the doc say 'bring me cloths there's too much blood - then I felt the staples and stitches. Has anyone else experienced anything like this??

Lately I have givin up on ever being better. I used to be able to put on make up on, take a pain pill and go out smiling. People I think are unawear of my health issues..
I can't even do that anymore.
I wonder if I will ever have over come deep depression along with health issues. Gosh-I feel like I am at the end of my life and I am not that old (57) I had a nasty divorce- and my youngest child died. I have mulitable health issues and to top that off everything seems to be going wrong..

Should I just give up and never hope to have energy again to be half way normal again??

Hi, How can I find a good chronic pain Doctor who will keep prescribing me my medicines that I am on. My doctor is leaving after 8 years and I am on a "good, working medication schedule" after many years of trying other things. We have found what works but now I need to find a new doctor who will prescribe me the same medications (narcotics & anxiety medications) within 30 days. I didnt get much notice so I need to move quick. I hate to go and see "20" (so to say) doctors for them to tell me that they cant prescribe them to me.
I live in Wisconsin & most doctors seem to be scared to prescribe narcotics even though I have been on them for years.
Shopping for a new doctor seems impossible in less then 30 days. How do I find a good one who will help me and keep me on the regimine that I have been on for 6 years?
Thank you.

I know I can go to a pain clinic for my pain but for my anxiety the way I am understanding it, I would have to find another doctor. I am used to just one. Thanks

Ok so today I had this excruciating pain towards the left side of my upper ribs. It was sooo bad. I was crying and it hurt to breathe in and walk. It wasn't under the ribs and I'm pretty sure it was in the abdomen. It was also really bloated. I got my friend to touch it and she said it seemed swollen almost like there was a massive lump.
The pain has sort of gone now.
What do you think is happening to me??
HELP

i had this little bump on my top eyelid a few months ago. it got itchy every now and then but i just ignored it thinking that it'll go away. about a month ago i woke up and it grew and actually weighed down my eyelid.

then it turned into a rash and its starting to peel and it sores and itches like hell. i know, it sounds disgusting.

should i go to a regular doctor or should i go to a eye doctor? i need help! i don't have insurance so i don't want to go to a doctor and have him refer me to go to another doctor and waste more money than it is.

I'm not talking about the rabies shot but the Tetanus one. Would someone who gets a good dog bite in the face normally get it as standard procedure in an emergency room ?

I just recently got my ear pierced up towards the top and a few weeks ago was my 6 weeks deadline when i could take it out. Today i took out this one earring(not the same one i got it pierced with) and put a different one in. Then I took it out cuz it started to hurt really bad. Someone said it was kind of a purpleish blue around the hole. It's really red now and hurts like it did the 3rd day I got it when my friend accidentally bumped it with his shoulder while we were hugging. When I went to put alcohol on it tonight i felt the back of my ear and when i put little pressure on my ear this white stuff covered the hole and then started comming out of the whole! is my ear infected? or did i just mess with it too much? it really hurts and i plan to go to the doctor tomorrow...so it would be really helpful if i knew if it were infected before i make my appointment!
