Well while it is important to keep your tetanus shot up to date. And get a tetanus booster for this event. It is even more important in this situation that you get the rabies series of shots if you do not know if the dog that bit you has rabies. Good luck!

you're solid on the tetanus shot. Rabies is so uncommon those days, in spite of if it takes some days after a dogs is uncovered in the previous he starts showing indications, interior which era he can bypass on the affliction. in case your buddies dogs have been given bit by a rabid raccoon final Monday to illustrate, think approximately rabies. do no longer hassle approximately that, yet do manage it with antibacterial ointment, and watch heavily for an infection. BTW, it do no longer count how enormous the dogs is, all of them have enamel and it *HURTS* whilst they bite, even the babies.

ANY significant opening of the skin will be treated with a Tetanus shot if you have not been keeping up with them. Every 10 years you need one. That is the most painful shot available, by the way, but it will save your life.

It is needed every 10 years so keep track of when you had it and the next time something happens and its less than 10 years you wont have to have another one. It is a question they ask if you have been injured in anyway.
