What is it like to be put to sleep under general anethesia?
I am so scared! I have never been put under. Is it safe?I have heard that it's risky, and people can die during anethesia! Is it scary? Is it hard to wake up? Were you afraid you wouldn't wake up? What is the whole process like?

It's not a constant pain, more of a dull pain and only bothers me when I'm sitting or if I move a certain way. It feels like my ribs are pushing on something that pops back into place. I've had this problem in the past but it usually doesn't last more than a few days.

I'm in the middle of writing a vampire book (not the usual kind), but need a little medical information. I'm stuck right now, and really need the answers! First; on what side of the neck is the carotid artery. Second; would a person bleed to death from a severe cut to it. Third; would the jugular vein be better? And if so, where is it located. Also, if you can provide links with good drawings of the carotid artery, and jugular vein, it would be appreciated. This is a serious inquiry for a book that I really am writing, and I would appreciate serious replies. And soon as I am stuck on just where the girl in my story should get bit. Please help! Thanks in advance. :)

I was rear ended twice last year nad my back has never been the same. Over time I was able to work and do my normal day activities just being a little more careful. About two weeks ago it started to gradually come back and now its to the point where I cant get out of bed. My back brace hurts so I dont wear it. Any ideas? thank you!

S Wisdom tooth pain...bad?
I have this one wisdom tooth thats been trying to grow for 3 years now....its hurting real bad right now and I have tried ibprophin,alive,advil,antibiot... (left over from something else) its causeing bad head aces and ear pain. I cant bite down because its so swolen i bite on the gum. I was thinking of going to the er.....has anyone gone for a tooth ace before? What did they do and give you? (im also using teething tablets and orijel and it wont stop the throbing pain)

I can not go to a dentist right now. Its a 3 week waiting list. Again im thinking of going to the ER....WHat can they give me for the next 3 weeks?????

I was stung by a bee on Saturday. There was a small welt were I was stung, hurt like heck all day. Sunday I developed a saucer size red spot were the welt was. It's Tuesday and it still red, and the spot itches. There is no stinger stuck in the spot. How long will this red spot and itching last?

i thought you can only get a prescription for marijauna if you have cancer or something, i guess my girlfriends brother said he hurt his back in construction and thats why he got the prescription, but he has been arrested for having marijauna and supposobly his prescription was expired. so he went to jail, now he is out and is doing the same thing. i think the the prescription he has may be fake but im not sure.

my lower right abdomen hurts when i walk, stand , cough and i feel like i have to trow up ... i read somthing that said lay down and your back with your legs and arms flat and lift your right leg to your tummy it would hurt and it dident hurt... and it said if you press on you right abdomen you would feel pain but i felt none.. so im just wondering what could it be...

I work in a job as a security officer at a manufacturing plant and I can not leave my post for hours at a time. I am a 50 yr old woman and I need to go about every 3 hrs. Is there anything I can do short of diaper's to remedy this.....is there something to take that will not dehydrate me of will not raise my blood pressure, etc. etc.?

I was training my biceps 4-5 days ago when I felt weird continuous pain in my right biceps. That pain can actually reach my thumb so I thought maybe the muscle is pressing on a nerve or something .. so I stopped the exercise immediately.

After 2 days, I thought I'd give it a try, .. the pain still there.

Today, I felt the same pain again so I tried to track it's exact location. It's exactly UNDER my right biceps, when I pressed there I felt nerve pain throughout my arm (y'know, the same pain when you hit your ulnar nerve (elbow) against something) but the pain I felt from exercising is different, it's constant and it's not sudden.

What exactly happened? :S
Is it serious?

How do i get rid of nausea and dizziness?
I went on a ride on the 7th of sept at a carnival that I go on every year and this year it made me so dizzy I thought I was going to vomit I had to lay still afterwards ever since then I have experienced bad bouts of nausea that seem to last all day is there anyway to get it to stop

and no it is not morning sickness though it feels like it only all day instead of just mornings

In the morning once I get up these days, I have this extreme urgency to use the rest room. It can not wait! The rest room is usually occupied. I have this every year. What can I do to stop it. Or to prevent it next time. I can't live like this. As I get older, it becomes worse.

TMJ, depression, low *normal* body temp, chest pains, breathing issues, daily headaches - frequent migraines and tension headaches, sensitivity to light and sound, cough, diarrhea for 3 months, thyroid disease, endometriosis, PCOS, ovarian cysts, hair loss, weight gain - mostly in midsection, food sensitivity, nausea, sleeping problems, IBS, constant gas, intolerance to multivitamins, excessive sweating, burning sensation in arms, joint pain in ankles knees & hips, muscular pain in upper legs and forearms.

I just found a family doctor and made an appointment - I'm guessing I'll need a referral to a specialist, my endocrinologist thought I'd need to see a rheumatologist since my vitamin d levels are okay, so are my thyroid levels & my lupus test was negative. I've gotten the vibe from a lot of people that this may be fibromyalgia. Any other ideas? Also, what kind of treatment options are there? Any doctors out there who don't think it's all in your head?

Ok check it out, for the past two days I have been dealing with some facial issues. Lately when I raise my eyebrows, or give a facial expression my face actually tenses up so bad (almost like a muscle cramp) freezes, then slowly goes back to normal. Sounds crazy I know! I'v tried everything....Hot shower, massaging, relaxing...... what gives? If I tell this to my doctor she is really going to send me to the looney bin! (This is not on just one side of my face.) I guess Mom was right.....keep making that face and it will stay like that.

If anyone has any info please let me know. Also. . . which doctor do I need to see?
