My sciatica is playing up at the same moment as well so I have booked myself some more Physiotherapy which helps considerably. It strengthens the muscles at the base of the spine allowing the sciatica nerve to settle.
Combine this with some accupuncture and you will come good in a while. But it will take time.
You can also opt to have an epidural steriod injection. I am booked in for that again also. It involves sedation and an injection into the sciatic nerve which stops the inflammation and pain. But it dosn't work for everyone. Mine did and it gave me instant releif for a year.
You can also try a gentle massge at the base of your spine. A low dose steriod called Presidone. The Doctor can prescribe this. And some pain killers.
Sciatica is enough to drive you around the twist. But try a combination of treatments not just one as it works really well in combination and much quicker.

May find relief by visiting your local doctor of Chiropractic. This type of problem is something they treat very frequently and effectively.
A trapped sciatic nerve is not a very good diagnosis. Perhaps an inflamed nerve would be a bit more accurate. Any tissue under duress is going to have some swelling of that tissue. Leaving it more susceptible to having pressure applied to it. Getting a real diagnosis would be very beneficial as this could be as complicated as a herniated disc in the lower back.
You are in need of having an examination and getting a real diagnosis. Then appropriate treatment can be rendered.

Ask your doctor if you can take an anti-inflammatory drug such as Ibuprofen. You don't actually have a trapped nerve as you would be screaming, more likely an inflammation due to the movement of your pelvis as your pregnancy proceeds. This inflammation presses on the Sciatic nerve causing the problems.

You have to go to a physio. My mother has had the exact same problem for ages and she got referred to a physio a few weeks ago.
the physio has worked wonders, what she does is she lies her down and the tips her to one side and this frees the nerve.
My mum has been suffering with this for ages and says the physio has given her a new lease of life.

Have you tried physiotherapy, my husband has the same problem and physio and acupunture have helped him loads, not cured him tho. You may have to keep up treatments to see any sign of improvement.
