I dont have a dentist. I have maine care and they only take you in emergencys through the dentist. So I called them and its still a long wait. I cant do anything else with the dentist until then. Im just going to go to the ER for right now

You don't need a dentist, you need an ORAL SURGEON. Your wisdom tooth has become "impacted" and is most likely infected. Using pain killers and ora-jel is like putting a band aid on a broken water pipe. It may make you feel better, but until the actual problem is addressed, you will get continually worse. .
Get out the Yellow Pages and call the oral surgeons in your area. Explain the problem. There has GOT to be one in your area who can take you on an emergency basis.

Call your dentist and tell them that it is an emergency. Stress that you are in pain and cannot take it. Normally, they will fit you in regardless if there is a wait list. If that doesn't work ask your dentist for a pain reliever --they may be able to prescribe something that is stronger than you are taking. Furthermore, if the tooth is impacted (which yours sounds like) they give you meds to relieve the swelling in order that they will be able to facilitate the extraction. If worst comes to worst perhaps call a different dentist. Normally, the ER cannot do anything for you.
Good Luck -

I had to go to a walk-in clinic (A lot cheaper than an ER) for a toothache. They gave me percocet. I had a broken molar that I was not able to get pulled for another couple of weeks and the percocet helped immensely. I forgot to add that the doctor at the walk-in clinic also gave me anti-biotics for infection.

The only thing that I can think of that they can give you for the pain is Vicodin. It is a very strong pain medication but it can make you sleepy, although it does effect some in different ways.
