I was training my biceps 4-5 days ago when I felt weird continuous pain in my right biceps. That pain can actually reach my thumb so I thought maybe the muscle is pressing on a nerve or something .. so I stopped the exercise immediately.

After 2 days, I thought I'd give it a try, .. the pain still there.

Today, I felt the same pain again so I tried to track it's exact location. It's exactly UNDER my right biceps, when I pressed there I felt nerve pain throughout my arm (y'know, the same pain when you hit your ulnar nerve (elbow) against something) but the pain I felt from exercising is different, it's constant and it's not sudden.

What exactly happened? :S
Is it serious?

If the nerve sensations do not extend below the elbow, you are probably causing compression of the musculocutaneous nerve. This nerve travels in between portions of the biceps. If the sensation goes beyond the elbow, there are several possible nerves, but the cause is identical regardless of which nerve is involved.

Compression is caused by tightness in tendons and in the muscle sheathes that is aggravated by intense exercise. Sometimes the tightness is present because of scar tissue that formed from a previous injury, and the tissue needs to be broken apart to stop the problem from occurring.

Most of the time, compression can be reduced or eliminated by proper stretching. Therapeutic massage and ultrasound are sometimes used when scar tissue is present. Sometimes, surgery is needed, and sometimes a person has no choice but to discontinue the activity that is causing the problem.

Repeated nerve compression eventually leads to permanent nerve damage.
