The answers were extremely helpful. Some1 said it was the ulnar nerve n I looked it up n it sounds like exactly that. Will this go away on its own or do I need an elbow splint?

I sprained my ankle just over 1 month ago. I went to hospital and they done an x-ray and said nothing was broken and to keep weight off it for 24 hrs. Although the swelling has went down a lot, there is still a little swelling compared to my other foot that is not going away. Plus, when I am walking on it I tend to keep going over on it every so often and it hurts when this happens. Is this normal or should I maybe go and get it checked again? Thanks in advance.

In February I began to have pain in my calf muscle and I had just started taking birth control and I thought it was a blood clot - well I had an ultrasound done and that was not the case - it came back clear. I am off of the birth control - I was on it for less than 30 days. The pain has continued on and off - I wear heels at work and had to run up and down steps (14) at least ten times a day and then I would go to the gym and work my legs (definately overworked it). Since then have had three weeks of no running up and down the stairs and have stopped working out. I I went back to my doctor and he felt my leg announced there was no blood clot (since I needed reassurance) and had an MRI done about two weeks ago and there was no torn muscle, but he said I strained it.

I think my circadian rhythm is longer than 24 hours. Is that possible? If I don't control myself, I end up staying up later and later each night and waking up later and later. It's gotten to the point that I go to sleep around 10am and wake up around 8pm. I know this is not normal, and it seems like the only way I can fix it is to continue letting the cycle happen until I'm going to sleep and waking up at a normal time.

I know this sounds weird but for some reason I have been having rectal pain and constant gas. It has only been going on for about 8 hours now but it just came out of nowhere. It hurts to sit down but once I do I'm fine. Same when I stand up...the first 10 seconds are very incomfortable but then Im fine. Just want to get an idea of what this might be to prevent a trip to the doctor.

I've worked in a moderate stress level telemarketing job now for a little over a year. Progressively over that amount of time, I've noticed my neck has started to ache non stop all day and night long. I've also noticed that it seems to be more stiff, or thicker, if you will. It literally used to be softer than it is now. The aches and pains also tend to spread sometimes to my mid-shoulder and that middle of the shoulder blades area. I realize that the moderately stressfull job isn't helping the situation, and I've begun to stretch my neck on a more common basis. Are there other things I could do to prevent this constant pain and ache?

I have 2 herniated disc along with a degenerative disc in my lower back. L5 and L6 to be exact. All of which is causing Sciatica. I have tried everything. Physical therapy, nerve block/injections, acupunture and chro just to name a few.I am a severe asthmatic and thus suffer from a wide range of allergies, one of which is NSAID's e.g Motrin, Advil etc. Being allergic to antiinflammatory meds is a big problem when it comes to controlling pain since I can't take them and that is the primary treatment for my problem. I am only 41 years old, I refuse any type of invasive treatment, so that leaves me with 2 options #1 spend the rest of my life in severe pain eventually becoming less and less functional #2 which is highly recommended by my pain managementt team and my orthopedist, and that is to take narcotic pain meds for an extended amount of time. Heres the problem I am TERRIFIED of becoming addicted . We all hear the horror stories. I would be monitered closely. What should I do?

It's almost been a year since the injury took place. I was playing basketball and came down a little wierd and ended up tearing the MCL and partially tearing/stretching the ACL. My doctor said that I should be ok to continue playing ball as long as I am continually doing physical therapy to rehab it. However, when I run it feels very unstable and I am afraid that it will get worse if anything were to go out again. So I'm wondering what are the chances of a successful ACL reconstruction, about how much the surgury will cost, recovery time, etc. Basically, any information abt. an ACL/MCL injury and surgury. Thanks.
