General Health Care - June 2007

I just wanted to know, what a pain I had on the left side of my chest pain. Sometimes, it happens when I take deep breaths.
And sometimes, that feeling comes up by itself. Can someone tell me, what does it mean?

I can trace the pain all the way back to a few weeks ago when I was doing preacher curls at the gym and strained my left arm.

It started off as just an inner pain, but then I started feeling it across the bone. It also hurts whenever I twist the skin around my arm.

Now it's mostly gone except it's kind of an annoyance whenever I try and do curls with my left arm. I can feel it when I put stress on my arm during the first half of the curl.

My friend brought up tendonitis. Could that be it? What should I do about this? Keep taking Advil and hope it goes away?

I started burping very loudly and frequently a couple of years ago, and it has yet to cease. People are very amused by it because I am a female, but I have to admit that sometimes it gets frustrating. My doctor prescribed acid reflux medicine, but none of it (Zantac, Pepcid AC, etc.) has helped control my burping. I've also tried charcoal pills, but they had almost no effect either.

I have a pretty healthy diet, I don't eat too many "airy" foods and I very rarely drink soda, so I don't think my problem pertains to my eating habits, either. I'm just confused as to why it happens so much, and whether or not there are any health consequences involved. Thanks for your help!

i have had this really bad pain in my lower abdomen it hurts near the belly button and it hurts in the middle under my belly button a bit on the right it doesn't really hurt it feels quite heavy and sore my constipation has gone away i have diarhea but its not that bad i drink lots of water my muscles ache a bit i have no vomiting a bit of nausea i have no loss of apetite and no fever. i went to the doctors they cheked my urine and the doctor felt mii stomach as well and said thats its could be a urine infection and they gave me antibiotics but it still hurts a bit not as bad as it was though

MY pain managementdr told me to the er if it is after hours, not to my primarycare. I went last night and was given toradol/vistaril and was refused anything stronger. Im not a frequent flyer, she would not check my chart. my friend took me to another er close by. they said that the hospital doesnot treat chronic pain but wiukd give me nonnarcotiv iv meds. I agees, i wasin so much pain I was given benadryl decadron,and a few others.was there tit3am. the other hopsital called to tell them that i was coming.They said my pain managemen told me to take vicodin7.5 and go home. That med was given for abad tooth,I followed his protocoal did everything that I was going to do. Any help please, I cant continuewith this pain,thax may have saved my life

My boyfriend woke up this morning complaining of a pain in his "balls". he said it feels like a dull pain. Over th past few hours he beliebes the right side is swelling. My boyfriend is doing a strange twitching thing. We will be sat there watching tv and he will look away at a fixed point or something and I can see his eyes closing and they kind of roll into the back of his head, eyelids twitching. His hands will also clench into a fist and then stretch out . Its as if he has no control over it. He also makes a funny noise like hes trying to clear his throat or something. recently i have injured my neck and shoulder needing surgery on both, I can't use my left arm at all and my pain level reaches 10 on scale of 1-10 when I am up for 2 hours at a time so i take meds and have to lay down for a while, have the state helping with medical but thats all the help I can get, electric will be shut off on the 10th of july, food is running out and no gas in van to go anywhere, so I need an honest way to make cash and fast before I become homeless

Typically, to clean my ears, aside from using a Q-tip, which I understand to be dangerous, I use hydrogen peroxide. I read that carbamide peroxide should be used: What's that? The same answer that mentioned carbamide peroxide also mentioned alcohol. I've often wanted to use alcohol for my ear. Has anyone ever used isopropol alcohol in their ear? Does it help, or is it dangerous?

Here's a first for me: I have a pimple IN my ear canal.

before i start no nasty comment please.....

i was out last night and was dancing bare foot in a club (yes i no i should have had my shoes on!)
and woke up this morning and my foot really hurts and i think i have glass in it :(

its too painful to do anything and dont know if its just a cut or thers actuly glass in it?!

The other day my friend gave me a massage she's not professional, but i havn't have a prob with her b4 and well this time she was giving me one and she found a certain spot right on the bone of my left shoulder blade, i have been having pain there for a few months, and i think that may have been the spot where the pain was coming from so i thought oh good this might fix it, but the pain was so bad i passed out and was in extreme agony afterwards, and couldn't sleep on it, for the next couple of nights and i still, cant sleep on it, so you think she may have done more damage, by massaging it, should i go to the doctor?

glucosamine but some shellfish like crab makes me wheeze. Is it worth the risk just to try some or too dangerous? What experience has anyone else had with this, and does it actually help with the pain, which is absolutely excruciating.

I have a sharp pain in my shoulder & close to lower ribs which the pain increases with certain movements and breathing. i fell skateboarding and dropped a few feet. when i feel it was hard to breathe and i have very sharp pains. some guy said i may have taken in too much air too my lungs when i fell and the lining may be stuck in my ribs or something like that. it hurts really bad.

I have been awakened at night by severe rectal pain (lasting about 5 painful minutes) so I looked it up and found that it’s called Proctalgia fugax, a severe, episodic rectal pain that usually occurs at night, a muscle cramp in the wrong place at the wrong time, rectal spasms or just plain pain in the anus…
It could last a few seconds to a few minutes so most people do not even report it to their doctors.

Warm baths and massages seem to relieve it but I’d like to know if any one of you people found other true and tried methods to relieve that pain in the butt fast.

I am an 18 year old male, and I have had over the past two nights Ipain in the front region of my pelvis and a feeling of my bladder never empyting. It doesn't hurt to pee nor is there anything abnormal with it, I just feel pressure. I had surgery on my sinuses a week ago, and am currently taking antibiotics to prevent infection. However, I do not wake up when I fall asleep (its hard to fall asleep until like 4 am) to go to the bathroom nor do I feel the urge during the day. It's kind of freaking me out, should I call a doctor tommorow?

I've had pain and stiffness, tingling in my hands. Sometimes during the day and mostly at night and in the mornings. I have been told that it could be arthritis. Once I get going/moving I seem to be okay. I have just started to to take Glucosamine 1500 capsules. Is this safe? Any recommendations?
