It all depends on what is causing the backpain. Backpain can be caused by many things and to really cure it, you will have to find out what is contributing to it. If you stand or walk a lot and you're not wearing the correct shoes, then you'll need shoes with better support. If you are constantly sitting because of your job, you'll need to evaluate your workplace for chair height, desk height, etc and work on having good posture and plenty of breaks. If you do a lot of lifting, bending, etc for your job, you'll need to use better body mechanics that will protect your back. You will also have to evaluate your mattress and the way you sleep and how the carseat is set up.
Overall, strengthening and stretching exercises are always good. I would suggest going to see a physical therapist to have them figure out which exercise or stretches would benefit you.

Yoga.....
Pilates....

anything that strengthens the core muscles which more often than not are the cause of back pain. If you have something wrong with your back such as a prolapsed disc etc then you need to be very careful and do it all through a physio.

Make sure you drink 2l water a day to make sure all your joints are properly lubricated.

Good luck

It depends on what's causing it. Exercises to strengthen your back and abdomen muscles would help, though. And some use of a heating pad.
