My boyfriend is doing a strange twitching thing. We will be sat there watching tv and he will look away at a fixed point or something and I can see his eyes closing and they kind of roll into the back of his head, eyelids twitching. His hands will also clench into a fist and then stretch out . Its as if he has no control over it. He also makes a funny noise like hes trying to clear his throat or something. The thing is I havent said anything to him as I dont know if hes aware that hes doing it. Can anyone tell me anythig about this please?

He needs to see a doctor. it sounds like epilepsy. you have to tell him maybe he knows already and is embarrassed to say. if he doesn't he needs to get to the docs so they can control this. after all if he takes it when out who knows what might happen.

Sounds like a minor fit, he must see a doctor ASAP modern drugs can keep this under control, I don't think there is a cure but it can be controlled. It could be a mini stroke so again the sooner he gets medical advice the better.
On the brighter side it could be just a nervous twitch. Is he under some sort of strain, either way see a doctor he has nothing to lose health wise

It sounds like Obsessive Compulsive Disorder....I used to suffer from it, I used to have to blink really hard....sounds strange, but it is a real disorder. Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) comes in many, many forms. Some people feel the need to pray constantly, count, wash their hands all the time, check the front door is locked over and over again etc, etc. (If you used to play a game when you were a child 'don't step on the cracks in the pavement' it's a little bit like that)....but It's a very complex thing.

It can get worse and worse, I'm pretty sure your boyfriend realizes that he's doing this, and he can control it, but it's difficult....it feels like you must do it or something bad will happen. He may need to see a psychotherapist for some cognitive behavioural therapy, which can be helpful.

This sounds exactly like a minor fit. The important thing is that you talk to him about it now and insist he gets medical advice. This needs to be resolved in some way if your relationship is to continue otherwise it is going to get between you and may well progress to something worse. And don't let him hide it from you if he is actually aware of the condition as that is simply not fair. If you get on well with his mother, perhaps ask her first?

I would say something to him. Maybe he isn't aware of the fact that he's doing it. It sounds like a mild form of tourettes, but I'm not a doctor, so don't take my word for it. I would confront him about it, and regardless of his answer I would urge him to see a doctor. It could be a nervous habit, or maybe something serious. Good luck to both of you!

It sounds as if it could be a fit, or maybe tourettes, say something to him just in case it could be harmful to him and he doesn't know that he is doing it!!! Next you should make him see a doctor...Good Luck :D

Perhaps he has tourettes syndrome. This causes people to make involuntary noises or movements which vary from person to person.
The best thing to do is ask him. If it is tourettes then there is no known cure but if it doesn,t bother you then don't worry.

Sounds like a seizure disorder. He needs to see a doctor if he hasn't already.

Hi there, it sounds like he is having mini seizures. You must tell him straight away. Get him to speak to his GP about them. Lots of possible explanations but needs to see his Dr.
