cortisone injections are usually straight into the the joint, i think they are usually done to target a specific pain.

If you are wary, just ask your GP to explain the effects.

I had a cortisone shot 5 weeks ago, my elbow felt fine for 3 weeks but then my elbow pain came roaring back worse than before the injection. I have been using this tennis elbow secrets program now for 5 days and my elbow feels much better. I can really feel my arm getting stronger as each day passes.

I had a bad case of tennis elbow after hip replacement surgery. Go figure!! The surgeon said he "could give me a cortisone shot but he hated to". I suffered for 5 months!! Then my spine surgeon noticed my swollen elbow and he gave me a cortisone shot. Just a tiny stick, a little burning for a few seconds, and RELIEF!!!

Hi
The cortisone will only treat the elbow, it will take a while to work though. I had this done a few years ago, and I will warn you it DOES HURT, alot. BUT it does work. I found that wearing a elbow protector (or clamp as they are also called) helps no end. Good Luck with it

i had cortisone for tennis elbow and it cured my elbow. nothing else. it doesnt hurt very much except for a sort of ache for a few days. i also found that if i stopped doing what caused the tennis elbow it will stay away without further treatment

Cortisone is highly effective in releiving the pain of tennis elbow, however, with this treatment method, it has probably the highest rate of reoccurance.

Therapy is slower and much more work, but shows a much lower rate of reoccurance.

Other options:
The right kind of massage
Also, low level laser therapy

I have had it in my knee and it helped great, A few hours after it i got some discomfort but not bad pain thank god. It' only helped my knee the rest of my body still had aches and pains, The needle is big but it's really not painfull so the best advise i can give you is do not look at the needle untill you are done

Good Luck

I have the same but am having acupuncture for mine!
Yes it will just treat the elbow - it will be injected into that area specifically and should help ease the pain enormously!
Let me know how it goes as I may resort to similar if the acupuncture doesn't cure it - mind you it is helping enormously already!

I have that too. I got the shot. It took a few day's to take affect. Although my doc said it can immediately. And it only lasted about 2 weeks. I called to get another one, and then they told me you can only have 2 or 3 a year! So, it's almost really not worth getting for me. But, the relief for just a couple of weeks is good. And I've had test from a nerve doc. and he said it's not bad enough for surgery. It's pretty bad to me. I can't do alot of things because of it. So, I guess I just have to wait till it is bad enough. I'm really limited on what I can lift and to even hold a fairly heavy grocery bag straight down hurts like heck. So good luck, but don't expect miracles.
