I don't want any creams, but I was wondering, can the black circles under the eyes be caused by lack of sleep? Is there any alternative medicine I can use to erase them?

My best friend's little sister has a little boy a little over a year old. She's a young girl herself; 16. The other day I went to their house to pick up my friend and while I was waiting for her to get ready I went to her sisters room to chat, and saw her giving her little boy a small piece of a pill at least thats what it looked like, I asked her what it was and she told me it was melatonin but a small dose; I asked her what it was for and she said for him to get sleepy so she can go out and he wont wake up her mom, so she can stay out longer... WTF?!?!?! So I talked to my sis about it and she says to talk to her about the dangers of possibly killing her son... I talked to my mom about it and she says report her to DCF (children & families) I havent told my best friend because I dont know what to say to her and don't want to approach such a serious subject the wrong way... something needs to be done... will it hurt the baby if I wait to get my plan going? HELP! WHAT DO I DO??

I am a telemetry nurse looking into traveling. I plan to stay at my current hospital for another year so I can get into the ICU and have more experience. Following this year I want to travel and have looked into a few companies and talked to some recruiters. Any personal experiences? Company recommendations? Locations? I know I want to go to Alaska and then try to spend some time on the west coast, i.e. WA, OR, CA. Any help/info is greatly appreciated

I wake up at night with horrible pain in my right hip, lower back. What can I do to relieve the pain? I get the pain out of the blue. Right now, I've had it for 2 weeks and I'm so exhausted. I'm unable to function this way since it hurts to move. The doctor can't find anything wrong but something has to be wrong since it hurts so bad. He gave me Lyrica but I'm without relief. It didn't even help one bit. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you.

I just had ankle fusion surgery at the beginning of march for severe arthrosis (ie, no carteledge due to arthritis from early age). I'm recovering very nicely and I now have a walking boot -- I'm going to be returning to work in a few weeks... When thinking ahead, I am looking at my work wardrobe. How do I wear my pants... on the outside of the walking boot, on the inside of the boot, or scrunched up above the boot? Anyone have experience with this?

I have had two lumbar discograms in the past 3 mnths. Both of them were unsuccessful. Infact I have more pain now in addition to the pain that I had the surgery for. I put complete faith in the two doctors that worked on me.But I'm getting suspicious now. I have been out of work now for 6 months and my wife is 7 months pregnant. I really need to find the best doctor out there who can fix me. The success rate for the type of surgeries I had was around 90%. After the first surgery I tried to work with a friend and after about 6 hours I was immobile from the pain in my lower legs and feet. Please help if you can!!!

About 2 1/2 weeks ago I was at work and bent over to pick something up and on my way up I hit my head fairly hard on an x-ray unit. I didn't feel well a few days after but my headache went away. About five days ago I felt worse and have a neck strain too. When I am in bed trying to fall asleep at times I jump up because it feels like I'm losing my breath for some reason. I went to the doc today and he thinks I may have post concussion syndrome. He prescribed me some darvon and I took one and now my forehead/head feel like they are asleep. They scheduled me for a head CT scan for next week Thur to see if I have bleeding or any severe problems (he thinks I should be fine) but I don't know if I want to wait that long since I don't feel well at all. My question is for anyone who has ever had post concussion syndrome are these symptoms supposed to be severe like they are for me? Or is this not normal?

I was sitting with my toes tucked under and pressing hard to the floor while I was watching TV and eating. Could this have made my circulation low and caused me to feel quite faint all of a sudden? Any ideas would be most welcome. Thanks.

It doesn't happen too often, but when I'm asleep sometimes, it's like I half-wake up and can't breathe nor move. It's like my whole body goes completely stiff, and feels like my mind is awake (sometimes I can even open my eyes) but like my body is still asleep.

I'm 20, and I get my tonsils out next week due to having constant sore throats, trouble breathing while I sleep, and never feeling rested (I am always exhausted). I'm sure getting them out will help with this weird sleeping thing I have, and I plan to ask the doctor about it, but was just wondering if anyone would have any ideas about what I might be experiencing.

We once thought maybe they were seizures as a side effect of one of the meds I'm on (Wellbutrin XL) and I have had one in the daytime before. Or does it sound more like sleep apnea?

Thanks for any feedback!
