I sleep 7. at first i needed 10 hours of sleep but i got so used to it that even on weekend i cant sleep more then 8 hours.

I had to have stiches in my hand. They told me to keep it dry and gave me Hydrocodeine for pain and cephalexin cap 500MG to prevent infection. It is much more swollen today and hurts like crazy. Yesterday, it looked like they butchered a pig in the ER! There was blood all over! I was trying to get two salmon patties apart with a knife and accidentally stabbed my hand with the knife. Is it normal to be more swollen and hurt more today than yesterday? I had to have 7 stitches and they had to repair the artery that was sliced.? My whole hand is so swollen it is hard to bend my fingers. What are the warning signs that should send me back to the ER?

I had my navel piercing done 3 years ago and now, I think it's infected; it has like a red open wound sorrounding the bottom hole and was discharging a little blood and pus. That’s why I pulled the ring out tonight, hoping it’ll heal with this (‘cause I’ve been having this for 2 months!!! And it hurts a little…)
But it looks to me like the bottom hole wants to close (checked it right now and it’s forming a crust)…I don’t want it to close but still I want it to heal too. What can I do? Would seasalt work to heal the wound? Should I putt he ring back? Help me please!

June of 2006 I fell off a roof and broke my right shoulder, left arm resulting in surgery and multiable broken ribs. Salina Regional Health, a hospital in Salina, Ks never wrapped or administered any type of first aid to my Ribs. I have never healed from that injury. I now don't have insurance do to a divorce. I thought a rib belt or at least a ace bandage should have been protocall.

But that was on saturday/sunday. And it is now tuesday, and i still feel it. It hurts when I make drastic movements in my arms. I have also noticed a sharp pain lower when i turn my head to the right and my chin is about 3 inches from my shoulder. only to the right. The pain has resonated to my neck and I can feel it through my back.
Could it just be sore muscles? are there muscles in my chest? When I say shest I mean between the 5in verticle strip b/w my breasts.

I'm in my late teens. I am moderatly fit, I try to go running atleast 2 times a week.

I have 26 stitches in my arm. I've had them for the alloted amount of time my dr. told me to. Can I remove them myself?
Also, I have a few on my thumb right where my thumb meets my palm. They still hurt a little bit when I put pressure on them, is this normal?

ok, so i've been to like 4 doctors and had 6 blood tests taken, over 10 x-rays, a blood pool test, and a bone scan. No one seems to know what's wrong. My heel has white spots that keep disappearing and is swollen and has a little discoloration. My tendons are like tight and the physical theripyst is working them out, but there is something more than that. I am on a strong pain killer that is so strong you can only take it once a day and i still wake up at night from the pain! My ankle was swolled and discolored to start, then later it radiated up my leg. I had a very similar situation about 4 months ago. If you know of anything this could be, please help me. My grades are slipping and the pain is horrible. I can't walk, so i'm using crutches and they are having me wear a boot all day and night, but i can't even walk on my boot alone yet, the pain is too much. If you think you have an idea, please let me know ASAP, i just want this pain gone! Thanx!

We definately already plan to see the doctor ASAP. It appeared a couple days ago and seems VERY painful. My husband thought it was a spider bite and popped it and tons of pus oozed out and now I'm wondering about that incase it is a boil-I heard popping a boil can cause worse infections. Can anyone help with home remedies and such? Thank you!

Recently, about 4 days ago I discovered this lump on my back. It's located on the lower left side of my back. It's not on the spine. I saw a number of similar questions on Y!A but I wanted to know if this is normal and if there is a term for it or a name? I have terrible insomnia and stay up all hours of the night usually not falling asleep until 10 am the next day. I have attempted many times to stay up for 24+ hours (Up to 48) In order to try to correct this, even some very heavy sedatives. None seem to work. Regardless of how exhausted I am during th day, when it becomes dark, I wake up. Then cannot get to sleep. My Doctor and Psychiatrist are absolutely stumped. Has anyone heard of this or have a name for it?? I would greatly appreciate it.

I suffer from ulcers terribly every few months. I'm fit, heathly eat a well balanced diet, but every so often I get them and about 4 or 5 at a time in my mouth. I think it may be due to stress or lack of sleep as we have a new born, but i may be wrong. Is there any way I can prevent these. I obviously use bonjela when I get them.

I have intermittent but sharp upper abdominal pains. The pain is right between my navel and sternum. Not to the right or left but right in the middle. It comes on quick and feels like a sharp intense stabbing. I was feeling nauseaus earlier and the pain was more of a dull ache in the same area. Now I have the intense pain like every 3-5 minutes. Please help me out if you can.

I have pain in the left groin area. and my bladder is lowering
sometimes this pain goes to my left thigh to knee area in the back. but mostly goes to my hip area.I have had a hysterectomy 3 years ago. I just went to the doc. who has referred me to a surgeon for a hernia. This pain sometimes goes away but has been constant for about 8 months now
someone else suggested a herniated disk. and then said to never ever have back surgery. I am scared and in terrible pain

I am 35 years old and I work as an Office Manager. I know that I have early symptoms of Carpal in my Right hand. I have recently started getting severe pain in my right shoulder. It is not in the joint but closer to my neck on the back side near the muscles. It hurts worse as the day goes on and it hurts intensley after I get home from work. Any suggestions on what this could be or how to start looking for answers without having to go to the doctors yet!
