It's most likely one of two things. A nerve problem (carpal tunnel or a pinched nerve somewhere else) or a circulation problem. Testing the circulation in your fingers is easy. Put pressure on your nail so it turns from pink to white. When you let go, it should turn pink again in seconds. If not, bring it up at your Dr appointment.

Tell your Dr. to check for pinched nerve or do a doppler test to see if there is a blockage in the arteries.Also check your sugar levels while you are at it. It could be any # of reasons causing this, see a Dr. soon.

It could be that you have pinching of your spinal cord. Some one I know recently had this occur. What happened was the disks in his back were pinching the nerves in his arm. The best way to find out for sure is to definitely check with your physician. If they discover it is this, it will require surgery.

Do they also turn white when it's cold? That would be Reynaud's Syndrome.
